Action against Hunger would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: Nutrition-Social and Behavioral Change Specialist

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Public Relations, Public Health, or related fields and at least 5 years of relevant work experience  or

Masters or other advanced degrees in a similar field of study and more than 3 years of relevant work experience in designing, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating of Nutrition and Health SBCC strategies and materials as well as related training.

Experienced in pre-testing and concept testing of SBC approaches and content.

Previous work experience in humanitarian and development Nutrition and Health SBC interventions in INGO is advantageous. 

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong organizational skills, and ability to lead a stream of work;

Proficient writing and verbal communication skills;

Ability to work independently as well as in cooperation with a multicultural team;

Ability to think creatively and strategically;

Relevant computer software skills (including, at a minimum, the standard applications in MS Office).).

Demonstrated ability to coordinate closely with government staff, effectively manages their expectations and builds capacity.

Knowledge and skills of MS Office Suite are required and skills in other graphics designing software are desirable.

Genuine interest and commitment to the mission and principles of Action Against Hunger.

Proven abilities to set priorities, multi-task, and work collaboratively across technical disciplines.

Language:

Fluency (written and Spoken) in English is compulsory.

Knowledge of Amharic and other local languages, including Anywa and Nuer languages, is an advantage.

Position 2: Data Analyst-MERIAM 2.0 Project

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information science, epidemiology, statistics, or related studies from an accredited university or college and at least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of nutrition and health research, nutrition surveillance and survey, and Early Warning System (EWS) in the context of the humanitarian setting.
  • Master’s or other advanced degree in a similar field of study with more than 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience in implementing and leading nutrition and related research with managing nutrition and health data, review of research protocols, and designing data collection tools is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the national and regional EWS and strategies, policies, and anticipatory plan of action for crisis response is desirable. 
  • Exposure and participation in national and subnational Early warning System coordination and technical working groups are preferred.
  • Experience working in the Oromia region or having a good understanding of the context is preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical skills in data mining, analysis, interpretation, visualization and presentation.
  • Experience in using statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, and R is highly desirable.
  • Advanced computer skill in MS Office Suite and statistical software such as SPSS and Stata is required. A skill on “R” is a plus.
  • Data visualization skills using tools such as Power BI and other soft wear is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple tasks as well as self-direct with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate closely with immediate manager, other staff, and government offices.
  • Genuine interest and commitment to the mission and principles of Action Against Hunger.
  • Proven abilities to set priorities, multi-task, and work collaboratively across technical disciplines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English is mandatory and Speaking of more than one local language is a plus.

Position 3: Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning Officer (MEAL Officer)

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in humanitarian affairs, international development, public health, epidemiology, statistics, economics, or other social/developmental sciences
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in the Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Accountability of humanitarian or development programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of M&E concepts and international humanitarian quality standards
  • Experience with mobile data collection (preferred)
  • Fluency in English and local language (both written and spoken skills)
  • Knowledge of the local language is mandatory.

 Required Skills & Competencies

Essential

  • Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible, and culturally sensitive
  • Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to translate evaluated results into learning strategies
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating  donor (i.e. ECHO, SIDA, PRM, EHF) funded activities
  • Skills in statistical and other software (MS Excel, SPSS, SPHINX, STATA, EPI Info, ENA for SMART, GIS, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience in humanitarian M&E
  • Experience in designing and leading internal and external evaluation
  • Experience designing and leading capacity building and training for national teams
  • Familiarity with Management Information Systems (Databases) and GIS
  • Knowledge of  project cycle management
  • Commitment to ACF mission, values, and policy

PREFERRED

  • Previous experience with nutrition, WASH, food security, and livelihoods programming.
  • Previous experience with cash-based interventions (i.e. cash for work, cash transfers, or cash vouchers)
  • Experience with mobile data collection processes and platforms
  • Experience with GIS and spatial analysis
  • Familiarity with Management Information Systems (Databases)
  • Languages: (indicate fluency level)
  • English (fluent)
  • Knowledge of local language (Desirable)

Position 4: Senior Program Support Officer-PoN

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Required degree in accounting, project management, business administration, logistics and supply management or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in finance, grants management, or project management
  • Strong track record of budget development and monitoring for a range of donors
  • Practical experience of working in INGOs is preferable
  • Familiarity with nutrition and research related works will have a plus

Required Skills

  • Fluency in both English and Amharic; professional proficiency in Somali or Afan Oromo preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including good command of Microsoft Office and accounting software
  • Knowledge of donor reporting guidelines (e.g., PoN, ECF,UNICEF, ECHO, SIDA, GFFO) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple tasks with minimum supervision
  • Good judgement and problem-solving skills, strong communication skills and documentation habits
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Genuine interest in and commitment to the mission and principles of Action Against Hunger
