Ahadu PLC would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.

Position 1: Head Pharmacist

Purpose of the Job:

To drive the growth and profitable operation of the Pharmacy (AXUM Pharmacy) by directing a customer-focused, cost-efficient, and safe retail and distribution of pharmaceutical products supplied by the Company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual sales plan.
  • Coordinate necessary arrangements to obtain drugs needed in the Pharmacy.
  • Check for proper storage of medicines, follow up inventory levels and release purchase orders.
  • Check for proper shelving of medicines based on their sensitivity to light, expiry date, pace of movement and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce compliance with all regional and federal laws, company policies and procedures, and regarding the licences of the Pharmacy personnel.
  • Maintain inventory levels to company goals, rotate stock, comply with recalls, and utilize return process.
  • Get the approval from the Head, Pharmaceuticals Retail Department and procure medicines that are not available at Ahadu pharmaceuticals.
  • Approve transfer of overstocked medicines to and from other Ahadu pharmacies.
  • Offer general advice and professional assistance and guidance to patients.
  • Evaluate medicines for their pricing, rate of sell and shelf life and make recommendations for the wholesale department.
  • Provide guidelines and instructions for the safe preparation, compounding, dispensing and administration of medications to include appropriate labelling and expiration dates.
  • Resolve customer complaints.
  • Follow up inventory levels and protect overall losses and discrepancies and expiry in the inventory.
  • Maintain good business relations with internal and external customer and widen customer base through strong relationships.
  • Offer health promotion and prevention activities, for example, training people to use devices such as blood pressure or diabetes monitors.
  • Act as Pharmacist-In-Charge for regulatory, legal, third party insurance and audit purposes.
  • Maintain proper Pharmacy and general safety procedures and standards.
  • Maintain adherence to company and regulatory dress code standards, and direct Pharmacy team in maintaining appropriate professional appearance.
  • Coordinate Pharmacy schedule; direct and monitor Pharmacy personnel and performance by providing ongoing and constructive feedback, training, and evaluations; make recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination.
  • Evaluate the periodic performance of his/her subordinates.
  • Manage staff by maintaining effective employee relations according to company policies and employment laws and ensure relevant Human Resources (HR) procedures are followed.

Qualification:

  • Pharm/BSc Degree in Pharmacy
  • At least Five(5) years of experience as a licensed pharmacist with 2 to 3 years of experience as a head pharmacist.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing pharmaceutical supplies and inventory and compounding of prescriptions and pharmaceutical preparations.
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Able to stay calm and work well under pressure.
  • Good Knowledge of Pharmaceuticals Business, Pharmaceuticals Products & Retail Pharmacy
  • Good Knowledge of Regulatory Authority Rules and Regulations
  • Skill in the use of computer

Position 2: Chief finance officer

Purpose of the Job: To enhance the financial and operational performance of the Company by leading the design and implementation of financial recording, analysis, reporting and management system that provides accurate and current information for better decision making, and supports efficient management of cost, working capital and investments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, revision and implementation of cost-effective financial management and accounting systems in accordance with accounting principles and business requirements.
  • Lead the enterprise performance management system development, implementation and improvement.
  • Coordinate Ahadukes’s annual budget preparation; monitor and report departmental budgeting discipline and performance to ensure achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Prepare annual financial plan of the Company indicating schedule of cash inflows and outflows and identifying the best way for financing projects, and prepare long term financial forecasts in relation to developing future strategies for the Company.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Management Team, define annual financial performance target, financial indicators, performance targets, and monitor and evaluate accordingly.
  • Oversee effective implementation of Company financial policies and procedures and ensure relevant government regulations are understood and duly observed by all concerned.
  • Follow up compliance with tax and other regulatory and prudential requirements and guidelines, and ensure timely and accurate payment of all tax and pension obligations to the concerned organizations.
  • Monitor the financial status and exposures of the Company, and availability of adequate finance to accomplish daily operations and satisfy financial obligations, provide advice to Senior Management where appropriate.
  • Lead the development and implementation of appropriate and effective cost controlling and analysis procedures and performance analysis and reporting mechanisms for improved cost management and operational efficiency.
  • Lead surveys to prepare recommendations for improvements, controls, new methods, and other changes to improve the efficiency of the financial management and accounting system.

Generic Duties of the Position:

  • Develop the Department’s strategic plan and objectives and lead in their implementation.
  • Prepare the Department’s work plans and monitor their execution.
  • Develop policies and procedures for the Department and lead in their implementation and continuous review.
  • Coach and mentor staff within the Department.

 Requirements:

  • Master’s/BA degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Eight years for masters and ten years for BA of experience in financial management required.
  • Experience in a senior management position.
  • Manufacturing and FMCG exposure are required.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
  • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
