The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae).
AHRI reorganized by the decree of the Council of Minister’s Regulation No. 376/2016 as biomedical research, clinical trial and research capacity building under the Federal Ministry of Health. AHRI, over its 50 years in service, is well known for its hub function for skill and technology transfer and partnership embracing research agendas with direct impact in the development and transformation of population in Ethiopia and beyond.
Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.
Position 1: Project Management Assistant
Education:
- A candidate must have a first degree in Public Health, Health Informatics and related fields.
- CGPA 3.00 and above for male applicants and 2.75 and above for female applicants
- Work experience is not required
Skills and Competences
- Highly organized, able to handle multitasks and oversee several projects simultaneously
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Fluent in English Languages, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and having experience in project management softwares is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving-skills
- Ability to work with others/team work
Duty station: Addis Ababa AHRI Head Office
Position 2: Junior Researcher: Serology Lab
Qualifications and Competences
- B.Sc. degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology, Biology.
- Work experience is not required
- Hands-on lab experience in serology lab setting is advantageous.
- Willing to work on evenings, holidays and weekends when necessary
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Fluent in English Languages (speaking, writing, reading and listening)
- Advanced skill of computer science
- Ability to work with others (colleagues, MSc and PhD students) respectfully, professionally and maintain good team spirit all the time
Duty station: Addis Ababa AHRI Head Office
Position 3: Junior Researcher: Laboratory Logistics and Quality Management
Education: A Bachler Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology
Work experience and competencies:
Zero year work experience
In-depth knowledge of laboratory management practices, quality assurance protocols
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders effectively.
Proficiency in using computer skills preferably any laboratory information management software
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English communication (spoken & written)
Willingness to be multi-tasked in lab logistics and lab quality management
Duty station: Addis Ababa
