Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.

Position 1: School Feeding Supervisor

Major Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the School Feeding activities at Dimma field office of Okugo refugee camps and the host community.
  • Monitoring supervising and ensure SFP SOP guide line are used accordingly for food supplies cooking and serving for the Student.
  • Ensure effective management of the cooks, cleaners and the school feeding activities making sure     that their weekly tasks are achieved.
  • Ensure the food hygiene through washing the kitchen, dining room, kitchen clean and the floors dry, supervision on the cooks and monitor cooker to meet the standard of hygiene
  • Timely reporting any gaps, including stock out of commodities.
  • Facilitate and ensure all cooks have medical evaluation/certificate before hiring and within at least every 6 months.
  • Conduct commodities balance on weekly basis by using GRN/STV and report to project coordinator.
  • Participate on monthly camp coordination meeting and sharing monthly updates to participants and take action on the action points raising in the project activities.
  • Compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports in order to support operational decision-making in Okugo refugee camp.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices and SOPs to be shared from WFP, RRS, and Food/nutrition clusters.

Location: Gambella Region, Okugu Refugee Camp

Number of Post- 1 (one)

Required Education:

MSc/MBA/BA Degree Social Protection, Social Sciences, Nutrition, or Project Management.

Work Experience:

  • At least five years of progressively responsible support experience in School feeding programs, nutrition, emergency response related programmes at least one year in refugee camps.

Position 2: Project Coordinator

The role is expected to ensure program quality of all projects implemented under Okugu refugee camp.

  • Support General Food Distribution (GFD) and school feeding program in Okugu refugee camp in close collaboration with UNHCR, RRS, and other IPs in the camp.
  • Coordinate the reception of food commodities in Okugu refugee camp warehouse.
  • Coordinate with distribution staff, WFP, UNHCR, RRS, and others IPs ahead of distributions to ensure staff is ready for receiving food or distributing food.
  • Closely work with WFP focal to arrange for the reception of food commodity trucks at the appropriate warehouse / food distribution point.
  • Provide appropriate technical and operational guidance to the project staff for the implementation of all the project activities.
  • Facilitate and provide capacity building trainings to the project, government and other partners staff involved in the implementation of the project activities.
  • Prepare detail work plan, procurement plan and risk management plan discuss with concerned department and stakeholders to be involved.
  • Lead the operational and administrative management of GFD and school feeding activities of the project, in coordination with other staff.
  • Participate on monthly camp coordination meeting and sharing monthly updates to participants and take action on the action points raising in the project activities.
  • Preparation of periodical reports and communication materials.
  • Ensure sufficient distribution materials are available and/or procured in a timely manner.
  • Work with distribution officers, biometrician, compliant and response officers to ensure registration lists have been conducted appropriately and community mobilization will be conducted a head of distribution date.
  • Follow and track all project activities are conducted in accordance with the Field Level Agreement (FLA).

Job Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in human nutrition, Economic development, social sciences, nutrition, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in project and/or GFD/school feeding coordination at least two years in refugee camps.
  • Previous experience in the coordination of food and nutrition projects related in IDPs and refugee camps.

Position 3: Distribution Supervisor

The purpose of distribution Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the overall GFD distribution implementation in the Okugu refugee camp. Managing the staff working under his/her supervision and closely work with other project staff and stakeholders. 

  • Participate in the process of identifying beneficiary communities/targeting.
  • Organize and arrange distributions according to SOP defined by work plan.
  • The officers will verify each individual that comes to the FDP by cross checking ration cards and proof of registration.
  • Conduct all project activities in accordance with the agreed work-plan and project proposal, ensuring food distributions run effectively and efficiently, meeting the required standards of service for targeted beneficiaries.
  • At the distribution point, commodities must be arranged in an organized manner, by commodity type to facilitate easy distribution.
  • Supervise loading of food that is left over after distributions. Ensure that a waybill is prepared for food to be returned to the warehouse.
  • Supervise the proper handling and care of distribution equipment’s at the center.
  • Assist with crowd control and ensure people waiting in line for verification/distribution are doing so in an organized manner.
  • Provide training to Distributors, Scoopers, incentive workers and other stakeholders, as needed.
  • Participate on the reception of food commodities in Okugu refugee camp warehouse.
  • Conduct community mobilization ahead of distributions date to ensure all targeted beneficiaries will be available and receive the food commodities.
  • Complete daily distribution reports, submitting to Project Coordinators, and concerned stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all activities are implemented in line with established food management protocol.

Education:

  • University degree with three years and above in Nutrition, social science or humanitarian aid. 
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in refugee settings with   prior work experience in General Food Distribution.

Position 4: Accountability, Complaint and Feedback officer

Major Duties and responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage the complaint and feedback mechanism for the WFP project.
  • Assess existing community capacity and mechanisms that can be used to set up information sharing processes, complaints, and feedbacks for the Dimma field office.
  • Work with other ASDEPO staff in collecting and recording complaints and feedbacks; lessons learned and good practices for effective knowledge management.
  • Provide timely reports to the project coordinator and ASDEPO MEAL unit of head office.
  • Build staff awareness and commitment to a complaints mechanism, ensuring that all SOPs and ASDEPO core values are respected.
  • Receive complaints and feedback and respond to enquiries at the complaint desk at program sites.
  • Ensure regular the availability of complaints and feedback database/ information System and ensure information is shared on a regular basis.
  • Follow-up and receive weekly feedback, and case status progress related to the internal cases referred to the projects. Ensure all documents and actions taken are documented, and feedback is given back to the beneficiary.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required that may be assigned from supervisors.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working in a humanitarian/refugee on accountability.
  • Experience on data collection/ analysis tools including Excel, Kobo/others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Social Research, Protection/Data management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in accountability especially feedback mechanisms concepts.
  • Previous experience of working with NGOs.
  • Experience in implementation of accountability and complaints reporting mechanisms in Ethiopia.
  • Experience in developing and/or managing complaints reporting mechanisms for GFD programs.
