Awash Bank, Ethiopia’s pioneering private bank, was established on November 10, 1994 after the downfall of the socialist regime. The Bank was established by 486 founding shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 24.2 million and started banking operations on Feb. 13, 1995.

Since embarking operation, the Bank has registered remarkable growth. Notwithstanding global and domestic challenges, Awash Bank has exhibited a superior operational and financial performances among private banks operating in Ethiopia. Position 1: Senior – Database Administrator

Qualification & Experience: BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Science & Computer Engineering

Work Experience: plus a minimum of six (6) years in Database administration or related with three (3) years of which should be in a senior/equivalent role preferably in the banking sector.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of two or more RDBMS technologies (DB2, Oracle, MS-SQL server & Knowledge of advanced SQL)

Advanced knowledge of operating systems preferably AIX, Linux. Storages, network and security knowledge. Knowledge of high availability (HA) and Disaster recovery options.

Position 2: Customer Service and Operation Manager I

Qualification & Experience:

BA Degree in Accounting, Management, Marketing & Economics

Work Experience: plus a minimum of 6 years’ experience with at least 3 years at operational work.

The job holder is responsible for managing the customer service function at the Branch and ensure operational excellence to deliver exemplary services for high customer satisfaction levels supporting the Bank’s growth.

Position 3: Manager – Business Intelligence and Analysis Division

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Accounting & finance, Economics, Management & Business Administration, Management Information System (Business Information System) or related

Work Experience: plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the banking sector of which three (3) years in a supervisory role in research, business intelligence and data analytics.

Position 4: Manager – Training Impact Assessment Division

Qualification & Experience:

BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Pedagogy and Human Resources Management or related field

Work Experience: plus a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience with at least 3 years in supervisory role preferably in the banking sector.

Position 5: Branch Manager – Class IV Branch

Qualification & Experience:

BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance and Economics

Work Experience: plus minimum of eight (8) years of relevant banking experience of which 3 years in a supervisory position.

The job holder is responsible to plan, organize, lead, and control the banking activities of a branch office. S/he ensures that operating procedures, rules, regulations and code of practices of the bank are adhered to by subordinates. The jobholder leads the branch sales and customer service initiatives and guides branch operational excellence. She/he prepares and submits annual budget, operational plan and activity and progress reports.
