Position 1: Senior Finance Officer
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports per IFRS.
- Ensure accurate accounting records and timely month-end and year-end financial closing.
- Prepare and submit statutory reports to ECMA, ESX, and CSD.
- File VAT, withholding, income, payroll, and other tax returns.
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and client fund segregation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Support investment banking and advisory fee accounting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- MSc/MBA is preferred.
- Professional certification such as ACCA or CPA, or active registration with the Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE), is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a senior finance or accounting role.
- Direct experience in the financial services sector or another regulated financial institution is preferred.
Skills & Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- Expertise in Ethiopian tax law and compliance.
- Peachtree/Sage proficiency is mandatory.
- Strong Excel skills; ERP experience is an advantage.
- Good understanding of investment banking operations, asset management, and financial markets.
- Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly regulated investment-banking environment.
