The traditional methods have remained the same over time. In 1943, a Greek family started the first winery, followed by an Italian family. In 1973, the two ventures were nationalized and merged into one entity called Awash Wine. Since then, Awash Wine has become one of the country’s most beloved brands and a market leader that is deeply ingrained in the cultural fabric of Ethiopia.
Awash Wine Share company would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.
Position 1: Sales Representative
Job Summary
A Sales Representative is responsible for collection of orders for Awash Wine products, provide POS materials and services to customers. The job holder ensures availability by taking orders, checking displays inquires issues or complaints from customers. Generates sales by communicating consumers about what the company provides and acts as a point of contact between company and consumers. He/She works with customers to identify their needs, create solutions, and ensure a smooth sales and distribution process. At the same time, he/she needs to find new sales opportunities to ensure product availability at all possible points of consumption. He/She is also responsible for the execution of all brand building activities in his/her assigned territory within the Region.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serving as the first contact person of the company
- Build sound customer relation ship
- Servicing existing customer base through planned call schedule
- Resolving customer queries and complaints within the expected timeline
- Having a thorough understanding of the customer in his/her own area
- Daily follow-up of Agent’s sales force and consistent review of delivery frequency per outlet
- Ensure product availability in all potential outlets of his/her area
- Drive daily sales volume to achieve the target
- Conduct trade executions (merchandising, availability, price, POSM, must have SKUs) and initiate sales orders as per Awash standard
- Receive and handle objections of outlets
- Prepare and communicate all required reports in accurate and timely manner
- Advise on adherence of FIFO stock movement method at outlet level
- Actively participate in selecting, executing, and reporting of outlets for promotional activities to be conducted in his/her area
- Support Agent to increase sell-out performances
- Assist in developing route plans, ensure route, and price adherence of Agents
- Check whether the outlets are properly visited as per the route plan
- Ensure proper communication of Recommended Retail Prices (RRP) of the company products to outlets
- Assess the market and reflect on competitor activities in the area that require counter strategy
- Follow-up and report on activities that disturb the market (under/over pricing, transshipment, hoarding, etc..) in the regional area
- Support in identification, collection, and replacement of defective/damaged products
- Assist in proper allocation and distribution of POSM to outlets
- Implementing and respecting all tasks in compliance with standards and respecting all the set parameters by the system.
- Keeping records and documentations in compliance with the standards.
- The job holder is responsible to follow all SOPs and safety protocols of the company while doing his/her job.
- Attend monthly regular team meetings and share thoughts and ideas with colleagues.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in management, marketing Sales or Related
Work Experience:
2 years and above in Sales and Marketing areas
Fluency in English and local language of the working places are essential.

Position 2: Sales Representative- for Region

Position 3: Senior Category Manager
Job Summary:
To build a category in terms of marketing, research and development, sales, revenue, and profitability.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop long term strategic plan for the category.
- Make sales forecast analysis.
- Develop 360º innovative marketing category program based on the overall strategy to grow the category.
- Conduct research and development.
- Develop the appropriate communication strategy based on the marketing mix element
- Analyze market trends including competitors.
- Make impact assessment (pre and post) audits after implementation on strategies.
- Setting KPI that are goal-oriented in terms of volume, budget, and others.
- Manage people on different aspects in line with the company strategy including personal development.
- Follow up on implementation of action plans.
- Monitor execution of the strategy is as intended.
- Plan and monitor budget and strategy.
- Innovate and renovate brands.
- Follow-up employee’s attendance and report to Human Resource department.
- Arrange and lead the monthly department team meeting and share points raised to concerned individuals and departments.
- Attend weekly and monthly regular management meetings and share the information to his/her team.
- Responsible for coaching and mentoring subordinates while providing ongoing instruction and support.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings for subordinates and give feedback on their current performance.
- Follow-up the performance of staffs constantly and conduct Mid-year and Annual Performance Review for his/her subordinates.
- Facilitate and maintain effective communication of achievements, plans, expectations and goals of the company to his/her team.
- Identify the manpower requirement for his/her department and attend departmental recruitment and selection process.
- Identify the skill gaps or training and development needs for his/her team and report to HR.
- Ensure the ISO standard implementation in the company.
- Implementing quality and food safety objectives and clearing non-conformity reported following audits.
- Managing tasks in compliance to the system including infrastructure requirements.
- Communicating new procedures, policies, formats, work instructions and for any changes of raw material, process and product related to QFST and verifying records.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements:
MA/BA in Marketing, Business Management or related filed
At least 8 years of relevant experience with Creative Agency background, Premium Brand Management, Marketing and Trade Marketing.
Experience in the FMCG industry is preferred.
