Position 1: Youth Income and Financial Service Advisor
The key activities under this component are:
Facilitate, support and monitor establishment of VESA savings groups.
Work closely with financial service providers (MFIs, Banks, Sacco union and RuSACCOs) to create sustainable institutional linkages for HHs, VESA groups, and YSLA.
Facilitate opportunities for youth self and wage employment
Facilitate input credit models and livelihood transfers for PSNP participants (beneficiaries).
Develop public-private partnerships to extend financial institutions’ services
Provide capacity building on village saving and lending best practices for frontline and partner staffs.
Design, implement and monitor training for vulnerable people in financial literacy, income generation and VSLA methodology
Facilitate the development of pro-poor financial products
The position will be based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to project sites in East and West Hararghe.
EDUCATION
Required:
B.A. Degree in Economics, Finance, International Development or other closely related field.
Desired:
MA in Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, Cooperative Development, Agricultural finance and other relevant field
B)EXPERIENCE:
Required:
At least 6 years of direct work experience in the field of income generation, financial inclusion, Micro finance operation, working experience with RuSACCO, VESA/VSLA, youth livelihoods including needs assessments, baseline surveys, and field program implementation, proven experience on project activities integration & sustainability management, proven experience to work with a diversified team culture, experience in regular progress monitoring and delivery of on spot support technical support to field teams including the hard-to-reach areas
At least 3 years of on USAID funded Food Security/ Livelihood Resilience programs/projects and close experience on USAID deliverables..
Desired:
Experience in NGO programs
Position 2: PROJECT OFFICER
Education/training
Required:
BA degree in Gender, Law, Sociology, Social work, Development study, Social Science, or related areas of focus
Desired
Masters in related field is a plus.
B) Experience:
Required:
3- 5 years of relevant experience with first-degree and youth Entrepreneurship focused projects in urban settings.
Experience working with micro and small enterprises, gender empowerment, and financial inclusions.
C) Technical skills
Required:
Language proficiency in written and spoken English.
Computer proficiency
Good communication and report-writing skills.
Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, economic and social needs of young women, understanding of the participatory approach, and sustainable development.
D Competencies
Respect, accountability, courage, excellence, building partnerships, stress tolerance, building commitment, coaching, interpersonal skill, operational decision-making, planning and organizing, information monitoring.
Position 3: Payroll and Benefit Assistant
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Required:
BA degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Desired:
Training on financial software preferably PeopleSoft.
B EXPERIENCE
Required:
1 years of relevant experience for Degree and 2 years for Diploma.
Desired:
Development oriented NGO experience
C TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required:
Good communication and presentation skills;
Well organized and ability to act in a professional and ethical manner;
Good skills in computer applications;
Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, participatory approach and sustainable development.

Experience of Financial software
D COMPETENCIES

Required Qualification:

Required:
BA Degree in Disaster Management or International Development or related field of study
Five (5) years of experience in emergency programming, disaster management, rural livehood programs, food security interventions, Protection, WASH, and/or nutrition, and program management
Proficiency in verbal and written English, proposal development, strategic and operational planning, budget planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, report writing
Proficiency in standard office software package
Demonstrated leadership ability to inspire and empower others
Good interpersonal communication skill and ability to effectively liaise with government, community leaders and other stakeholders
Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, and conceptual understanding of participatory approach and sustainable development
Proven ability to meet deadlines
Knowledgeable in participatory planning
Understanding of the importance of gender, youth and social inclusion
Demonstrated commitment to principles of gender, equity, diversity, inclusion and PSHEA (safeguarding) through previous positions or programming experience
Desired:
Previous experience managing staff and working with teams to achieve objectives
Significant exposure to projects involving networking and multiple partnerships, particularly related to emergency response, food security issues, Protection, WASH, nutrition, commodity management
Working knowledge of programming in chronically vulnerable environments
Knowledge of local languages
Skills in organizing and facilitating training events
Expertise in one or more of the following program areas: nutrition/health, water/santitation, food security, commodity management
Knowledge of local language is Prefered
