CARE Ethiopia would like to invites competent and qualified candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: M&E Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Job Responsibility 1: Data Collection and Reporting

Job Responsibility 3:  Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting:

Job Responsibility 4: Training and capacity building

Job Responsibility 5: Other duties

A. EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

Four (4) years of relevant experience with the first degree and 3 years of relevant experience plus with post graduate degree in Social Science, Statistics or other related fields.

NGO experience is a plus.

Desired:

Knowledge of statistical software.

B. TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

Highly organized, attention to detail and analytical skill;

Computer skill particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point;

Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skill;

Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, participatory approach and sustainability;

Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

Desired:

Utilizing programming and statistical software (such as SPSS) to compile data and information for various systems, and knowledge of basic PME and research tools;

Exposure in developing and/or maintaining database using like MS Access, etc.

VI. CONTACTS/KEY RELATIONSHIPS

The jobholder is expected to collaborate with FSF technical team and FSF program managers and other CARE Staff.

VII. WORKING CONDITIONS AND LEVEL OF TRAVEL REQUIRED

The post is located  Dire Dawa, East Harargie , with frequent travel to program sites.

Position 2: Humanitarian Project Officer- Wash

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Job Responsibility 1:  Planning and Implementation of Project Activities (25%)

Job Responsibility 2:  Program Quality Assurance (25%)

Job Responsibility 4: Partnership and accountability (10%)

Required:

Three years for BSc degree or two years for post graduate degree holders in Water Resource engineering environmental health, water supply and environmental engineering, , Hydraulic Engineering and relevant experience preferably with an NGO setting with the following competency

Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management

Have technical background and knowledge in environmental health and demonstrated work experience in water and sanitation in designing and implementing hygiene promotion/hygiene education programs

Familiarity with relevant standards and guidelines for WASH in health facilities and community is a must.

Proficiency in verbal and written English, budget planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, report writing

Proficiency in standard office software package

Good interpersonal communication skill and ability to effectively liaise with government, community leaders and other stakeholders

Proven ability to meet deadlines

Understanding of the importance of gender, youth, and social inclusion

Demonstrated commitment to principles of gender, equity, diversity, inclusion and PSHEA (safeguarding) through previous positions or programming experience

A) EDUCATION/TRAINING

Required:

BSc. in Midwifery Nursing or clinical nursing with experience on midwifery services. 

B) EXPERIENCE

Required:

At least two years maternity related work experience. 

Experience on community based mobile health and nutrition (MHN) services.

Knowledge and practical experience of the primary health care level maternal and child health services;

Skill in facilitating on job hands on training for health workers, HEWs, and Health Development Armies (HDAs);

Field experience of community mobilization.

Previous experience in pastoralist communities.

Knowledge of local language-

  • Knowledge and practical experience of the national/international therapeutic /supplemental feeding protocols/guidelines
  • Experience in standard nutrition data management and reporting
  • Skill in facilitating on job hands on training for health workers, HEWs, and community volunteers
  • Field experience of community mobilization
  • Previous experience in working with agrarian and pastoralist communities
  • Knowledge of local language
