Catholic Relief Services – CRS would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following different positions.

Position 1: – Project Officer – MEAL

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned MEAL activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Support compliance with agency and donor MEAL requirements
  • Monitor and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. Assist partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences.
  • Provide input to MEAL system design and review discussions
  • Supervise quality data collection and management activities
  • Lead simple analyses and reflective discussions on ongoing monitoring data
  • Contribute initial findings and field-based insights to project reflections
  • Foster respectful relationships with community members and stakeholders
  • Train enumerators on the conduct of field-based MEAL activities
  • Promote honesty and integrity in work of enumerators
  • Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data per specified mechanisms and tools. Collaborate with local partner(s) to prepare reports per established reporting schedule.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree Statistics, Economics, or other relevant field is required.

Minimum of 2 years of work experience in MEAL. Experience in the field of Statistics, Data Analytics or other related fields and for an NGO would be a plus.

Additional experience may substitute for some education.

 Required Languages – English and Amharic required. Knowledge of relevant local/regional languages strongly preferred.

 Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 30%.

Position 2: Administrative Assistant – Operations

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication with all units of the organization and external stakeholders as relevant. Send/receive and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail/faxes/letters/documents.
  • Provide specialized administrative transactions and processes (e.g. translate, type, proofread, and/or format documents; record and transcribe meeting minutes; draft simple correspondence messages).
  • Prepare transactional documents in support of general operations processes and support coordination of transaction processing (e.g. payment requests, travel authorizations, travel advances, visas, etc.).
  • Compile data, perform data entry and data verification in relation to general administration processes (e.g. various contact lists, employee leave balances, staff attendance reports, Vehicle Log Sheets review, visitors’ welcome packages, etc.).
  • Support travel and logistics arrangements for staff and visitors. Schedule and coordinate appointments. Provide logistical and communication support to event planning activities.
  • Support implementation of property management processes, such as property receipt and distribution, property labeling, physical counts, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma required. Professional diploma/Certificate or courses in Administration preferred. Two years’ experience working in an office environment in a clerical or administrative role. Experience with a local or international NGO a plus.
  • Additional education may substitute for some experience.
  • Required Languages – English and Amharic required. Knowledge of relevant local/regional languages strongly preferred.

 Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 10 %.

Position 3: ICT Manager (Re-advertisement)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage talent and supervise. Manage team dynamics and staff well-being. Provide coaching, strategically tailor individual development plans, and complete performance management for direct reports. Monitor and assess performance to ensure adequate capacity for successful support of high quality programming.
  • Plan, design, direct, and coordinate the installation, configuration, maintenance, availability and security of the CP’s office ICT environment, including the delivery network and ICT infrastructure; manage crisis situations to ensure ongoing ICT enablement of agency business.
  • Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensure that ICT facilities and user devices meet these needs. Ensure timely and quality service delivery, technical support, and advice to user requests.
  • Partner with program staff to prioritize and support integration and evolution of ICT solutions in improving program implementation.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, conduct supplier analysis, and assess effectiveness to ensure third-party services meet CRS business requirements and needs. Collaborate with Procurement to ensure ICT purchases are in line with CRS standards and in compliance with donor requirements. Provide strategic guidance and input to budget development with regard to ICT-related expenses.
  • Assess and analyze ICT training needs. Provide capacity building (training, coaching, on-the-job support, etc.), remotely or on-site, to staff and partners in ICT-related areas to ensure efficient and consistent adoption and use of ICT applications.
  • Monitor ICT systems operations in terms of functionality, security and service delivery and provide statistical and analytical reports on ICT-related data, metrics, and trends. Collaborate with relevant staff to ensure inventory of ICT equipment, hardware, and software is maintained. Monitor functionality, anticipate supply needs and alert managers.

Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Completion of 1st or 2nd Degree in Social or Natural Sciences with 3 years managerial experience
  • Examples of Certification requirements include Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or equivalent, Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent, Microsoft SharePoint Foundations or equivalent and ITIL Foundation Certified.
  • Project Management certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible related professional experience.
  • Experience in introduction, design, implementation, and adoption of relevant technology and data management tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in management of network/server software and hardware devices and platforms.
  • Expert grasp of evolving communication and data network/server technologies and tools, as well as backup and disaster recovery systems.
  • Experience with ITSM and systems management tools preferred.

Internal: All CP staff, works in a matrix-supervisory relationship with RISA / RIM, members of CRS ICT community, and owners of CRS business systems; specifically HoP, Program Managers, and MEAL officers.

Position 5: – Administrative and Fleet Officer

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and report on activities and required resources to ensure cost efficient and quality service delivery from administrative support functions, including fleet management.
  • Ensure the proper management and scheduling of CRS vehicles and vehicle rental companies to effectively support program activities.
  • Help ensure administrative systems, processes, and policies are in line with agency standards and donor and local law regulations.
  • Engage with relevant external stakeholders (government officials, landlords, service providers, vehicle rental companies, etc.) on assigned administrative matters and help ensure required authorizations and documents are up to date.
  • Coordinate the efficient use of CP assets, including vehicles and rented facilities. Help ensure fully compliant procurement of office materials and asset management systems.
  • Help identify safety issues and ensuring a safe and sound work environment.
  • Coordinate the provision of travel and logistics support and services to staff and visitors. Coordinate event planning activities, including delegation visits, trainings and workshops.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in administrative support functions, with increasing responsibility. Experience with a local or international NGO a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Water or relevant fields is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the field of WASH and for an NGO would be a plus.
  • Additional experience may substitute for some education.
  • Required Languages – English and Amharic required. Knowledge of relevant local/regional languages strongly preferred.

Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 75%.
