Position 1: Financial and Logistic Officer
Job Summary:
Plans, organizes and coordinates the overall financial functions of the GAVI CSO Funds; ensures implementation of CCRDA’S financial policies, systems, and procedures and revises those when required. ensures that CORE Group Partners Project activities on the area of finance follow the organizational values, principles, procedures and guidelines adopted by the organization.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures all payment to and by the organization are effected in accordance with the financial guide lines of the organization;
Check all disbursement documents are correct and true before payment takes place.
Enter the proper account code to each transaction (all payment vouchers, all journals and all receipts) as per the chart of accounts of the Organization
Ensures that all the financial documents related to project funding are up to-date and in line with according to CCRDA, and GAVI regulations.
Follow strictly the settlement of advances and other receivable of the Organization.
Ensures the financial statements in relation to granted funds are in line with accepted principles.
Advises and assists member organizations in the efficient management of granted funds.
Acknowledge advance payments pending more than allowable settlement periods to immediate supervisor for action.
Assist in preparing annual budget, reconciling accounts and preparing reports.
Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
Check additions, account codes and payments made by the project as per the project proposals and check whether it is as per the budget. Prepares and submits periodical financial reports to management and other concerned body including donors;
Ensure the organization financial manual is strictly followed.
Keeps records of bank check books and cash receipts and issues.
Assist external auditors during their review.
Represent the Finance Officer in absence of Senior FO.
Participates in inventory taking as and when required.
Performs other related duties as required.
Job Requirement
Preferred Qualifications/Experiences:
First degree in finance or accounting from recognized University or College
At least five (5) years of relevant work experience especially worked in Gavi, USAID and other donor funded projects
Interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrating personal integrity and trustworthiness
Knowledge of Program/Project activities Management,
Highly self-motivated and ability to handle demanding workload
Planning, time management and presentation skills
Organizational skills
Special training – Peachtree, Quick Book and other relevant training
Duty Station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to the project areas
Position 2: National Program Officer
Job Summary:
The National Program Officer plays a key role in ensuring the successful implementation of the Gavi CSO Project by supporting partners at every stage of the project cycle. This includes appraising partner projects to assess their alignment with objectives, preparing and comprehensive narrative reports. The officer is also responsible for conducting training sessions, leading mentorship and monitoring efforts, and managing data collection and analysis to inform decision-making. By providing consistent guidance and technical support, the National Program Officer contributes to the effective execution, monitoring, and evaluation of implementing partners to achieve the project’s goals.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit work plans (annual and quarterly) and implement accordingly
Provide backstopping service to augment the capacities of the partner organizations and woreda health office,
Give status updates for relevant stakeholders on the performance of project implementation,
Organize and conduct trainings for partners and communities, and conduct follow up
Scrutinize, conduct desk review, pre-funding assessment visits and appraisal of projects,
Discuss and decide with partners to determine fund requirement and budgetary limitations for budget modifications
Facilitate the releasing of approved funds timely to partner organizations,
Establish databases for data analysis of the assigned supervision area,
Conduct the quarterly joint supportive supervision sessions and backstopping services in the project areas and provides oral and Witten feedback at all levels,
Provide technical support to woreda health office and health facilities on Polio Eradication, routine immunization and disease surveillance activities
Attend in EPI and surveillance review meeting at regional, zonal, woreda and community level
Prepare periodic narrative reports and submit to M&E and donors,
Provide feedback on report for the partner organizations on time
Participate and provide the required assistance during NID/SNID campaigns and big catch-up campaigns
Represent CORE Group Ethiopia in different forum when it is required
Brief regularly about the status of the project and submit written activity reports to CORE Ethiopia Director,
Contribute articles for CGPP quarterly newsletter and journal club
Facilitate cross border meeting and attend periodic cross border review meeting
Undertake any other duty requested by the CORE Group Ethiopia Director.
Job Requirement
Preferred Qualifications/Experiences:
BSc with MPH or MSc and/or MD with Post Graduate Degree in MPH or MSc from recognized University or Collage.
At least seven (7) years of proven experience on EPI from national to community levels
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrating personal integrity and trustworthiness
Knowledge of Program/Project activities Management,
Highly self-motivated and ability to handle demanding workload
Planning, time management and presentation skills
Organizational skills
Special training – Mid-Level Management, IIP, Leadership, team building and effective communication
Duty Station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to the project areas
