Position 1: Midwife-Mobile Health & Nutrition Team
Main duties & Responsibilities:
- Improving basic preventive health care at community level in line with public health emergency management with emphasis on health especially preventing maternal and newborn deaths.
- Conduct & undertake family health services as part of primary health care
- Provide ANC, PNC, delivery and essential new-born care.
- Provide maternal nutrition counselling and breast feeding including Iron and Folic acid supplementation for pregnant mothers
- Provide iron supplementation, TT vaccine, FP counselling and contraceptives
- Strengthening of early referrals mechanism all obstetrics complications and other maternal and child health illnesses.
- Ensure all referral cases are properly transported to the nearest or Woreda capital health facility based on the availability of ambulance and seriousness of the illness.
- Strengthening of linkages and coordination mechanisms between community and the Woreda health bureaus.
- Train and support health workers (HWs) and health extension workers (HEWs) on how to provide quality maternal and child health services.
- Train and support community-based volunteer where applicable, health workers for the implementation of the community component of the project.
- Conduct planning and promotion of awareness creation on Family planning including available contraceptives, nutrition and preventative health care issues in the community.
- Establish effective communication and close working relationships with project team (Snr Project Officer, MHNT Team members, other nutrition team members, program beneficiaries and Woreda Health offices,.
Job Requirements
- BSc Degree in Midwifery with minimum of three years or Diploma in Midwifery with five years relevant experience
- Proven experience in Midwifery
- Knowledge on emergency nutrition and health interventions including infant and young child feeding (IYCF) interventions.
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Good negotiation skill with government and other agencies
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
- Good interpersonal skills and team player with sensitivity to cultural diversity
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to understand and respect the cultural, religious and political environment and to work well with staff and local authorities in a diplomatic
- Experience in providing training and capacity building for staff
- Proficiency in Somali Language is mandatory

Job Requirements
- BSc Degree in Public Health/Nursing with minimum of three years or Diploma in clinical nursing five years relevant experience
- Profound experience in CMAM, particularly SAM management

- NGO experience in emergency projects is an advantage
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Good negotiation skill with government and other agencies
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
- Good interpersonal skills and team player with sensitivity to cultural diversity

- Ability to understand and respect the cultural, religious and political environment and to work well with staff and local authorities in a diplomatic

Job Requirements
Bachler Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, DRR& Early warning, livelihood, rural Development &related fields with 5 years’ relevant experience

- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
- Good interpersonal skills and team player with sensitivity to cultural diversity
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to understand and respect the cultural, religious and political environment and to work well with staff and local authorities in a diplomatic manner
- Experience in providing training and capacity building for staff
- Fluency in Somali language require
Desirable
- Recognising potential indicators of adult and child abuse, harm and neglect
- Good self-management skill
- Good time management skill and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Respectful of others, their beliefs and values. Trustworthy, honest and reliable
- Skill on minor electrical repairs, installation of plugs sockets and plumbing textures and fittings.
