Since 1997, DRC has been delivering relief and development services in the Horn of Africa, addressing the needs of refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and migrants. DRC Ethiopia began its operations in 2009 and continues to respond to the needs of refugees, IDPs, and vulnerable host communities. The organization operates through five area offices in Gambella, Tigray, Somali (Jijiga and Dollo Ado), and Afar regions, with its country office based in Addis Ababa.
Danish Refugee Council would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.
Position 1: Economic Recovery Coordinator
Required Education: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
Masters/bachelor’s degree with relevant, progressive experience in Agriculture, Agro economics, Economics, international development, Agribusiness, Business Management, Market system development, livelihoods, or related technical field
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
Professional technical experience evidencing and demonstrating ability to deliver against the above-mentioned responsibilities:
Minimum 5 years of experience in livelihoods, economic recovery, and cash assistance in fragile, conflict and disaster affected environments.
Masters/bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Economics, Agribusiness, Business Management, Marketing, Livelihoods, or other related technical field).
Strong knowledge of modern Livelihoods Programming (including urban livelihoods, SME start-up and scale-up, and modern agriculture-based livelihoods, climate-smart agriculture)
Strong understanding on Market System Development (MSD) approach and experienced in Market system analysis,
Significant experience and demonstrated expertise in market-based programming (including CVA) and experience conducting detailed market, and livelihood needs assessments.
Relevant practitioner knowledge of and experience with financial inclusion and food security support. Familiarity with self-reliance programming, including safety net programmes and the Graduation Approach, will be a plus.
Substantial experience in both a technical advisory role and with hands-on programme management and implementation across the project/programme cycle.
Experience with conflict-related displacement issues and working in security-sensitive environments and enforcement of team security protocols is an asset.
Confident and effective representation and communication skills
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Strong proposal development skills
Excellent organisational skills, ability to determine priorities and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills, including working with different groups, partners and nationalities, and experience in coordination mechanisms
Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of guidance and supervision.
Financial news subscriptions
Salary Range: USD 1,001.00 – 1,217.00 per month which specific amount will be determined up on candidates experience and educational relevancy
