Position 1: National Project Coordinator

Job Summery

The Project Coordinator will lead and manage the overall implementation of the project, providing guidance and support to branch field and regional office teams. This role ensures that all project activities are executed efficiently and in alignment with the project’s objectives, timelines, and donor regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with extensive experience in project management, particularly in the areas of agriculture, job creation, humanitarian work, and multi-stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Implementation:

Develop and implement detailed project work plans, setting clear objectives, milestones, and deliverables.

Oversee all project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance with donor requirements.

evaluations and provide ongoing training and support to enhance staff capabilities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community leaders, partner organizations, and beneficiaries.

Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops to promote project visibility and gather community feedback.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess project impact and effectiveness.

Analyze project data and prepare regular reports for the Program Manager and donor agencies, highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.

Budget and Resource Management:

Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial policies.

Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with financial controls and reporting requirements.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare timely progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, documenting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of project activities, financial transactions

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in Development Studies, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.

Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in donor funded projects or development contexts; experience with donor-funded projects is preferable.

Skills:

Proven expertise in project management methodologies, including familiarity with tools for monitoring and evaluation.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Strong leadership abilities, capable of motivating and guiding teams toward common goals.

Language: Proficiency in English and Amharic is essential.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies

Position 2: Accounting Officer

Job Summery

Position Summary:

The Ethiopian Catholic Church Social and Development Commission are seeking a dedicated Project Accountant to support our project. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing financial transactions, organizing and scanning financial documents, making reconciliation, maintaining accurate financial records, managing of cash transfers from Head Office and periodic accruals ensuring compliance with donor regulations, and supporting financial reporting for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the project.

Prepare and process invoices, vouchers, and journal entries in accordance with the organization’s policies.

Budget Monitoring:

Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of project budgets.

Track expenditures against the approved budget and ensure compliance with donor guidelines.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare timely financial reports for the project, ensuring compliance with both organizational standards and donor requirements.

Prepare Monthly financial report for donor including scanning and sending of financial documents

Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.

Audit Preparation:

Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits specific to the project.

Ensure that all financial documentation is complete and available for audit review.

Reconciliation:

Conduct regular bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are addressed promptly.

Reconcile project accounts and maintain accurate ledger entries.

Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure compliance with the donor and the oraganization financial policies and reporting requirements.

Maintain organized financial documentation and reports for accountability and transparency

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in humanitarian organizations.

Strong knowledge of financial regulations, budgeting, and reporting requirements related to donor-funded projects.

Proficiency in accounting software and MS Offices.

Location: ECC-SDCO National Office

Position 3: MEAL Specialist

Job Summery

The Project MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Specialist will play a key role in supporting the project’s implementation by ensuring robust monitoring and evaluation processes, promoting accountability, and fostering continuous learning. This role is essential for collecting data, assessing project impact, and integrating community feedback into project activities. Additionally, the MEAL Specialist will provide guidance and support to branch field and regional office teams. The role also involves preparing and submitting periodic monitoring reports to the donor.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring and Data Collection:

Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring tools and methodologies for project indicators.

Conduct regular field visits to collect quantitative and qualitative data on project activities and outcomes.

Support the organization and execution of baseline, midline, and endline evaluations in collaboration with the Project Coordinator.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze collected data to assess project performance and identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Prepare and submit timely monitoring reports and data summaries to the Project Coordinator, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Accountability and Community Feedback:

Facilitate feedback mechanisms, including community meetings and focus group discussions, to gather stakeholder input and concerns regarding project implementation.

Ensure that community feedback is documented, analyzed, and addressed in project planning and execution.

Documentation and Learning:

Maintain organized records of MEAL-related documents, including monitoring plans, tools, reports, and feedback.

Contribute to the documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and case studies to inform future project design and implementation.

Participate in periodic learning sessions with project staff to reflect on findings and adapt strategies as needed.

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Agricultural Economics or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEAL in humanitarian or development projects, with a strong understanding of M&E frameworks and methodologies.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Excel, or similar software).

Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods and participatory approaches.

Interpersonal Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including community members and project staff.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team and foster a culture of learning and improvement.

Language: Proficiency in English and Amharic is essential.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies
