During the Axumite Kingdom, Indian traders had links with the ancient port of Adulis in the eastern part of Ethiopia and traded silk and spices for gold and ivory.
In recent years, with the opening up of the Ethiopian economy, business ties between the two countries have grown significantly, especially in the areas of trade, investment, agriculture and infrastructure projects.
Embassy of India would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.
Open Positions:
Position 1: Language Expert
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate, preferably with English or related languages.
Excellent command of written and verbal English.
Proficiency in Amharic; knowledge of other regional languages (e.g., Somali, Afar, Oromo) is advantageous.
Typing speed of ~40 WPM in Amharic or other Ethiopian languages and English.
Should be under 40 years old.
Duties:
Translation (Amharic-English and vice versa).
Media monitoring, research, facilitating official requirements for embassy officials.
Liaising with Ethiopian government offices and other assigned duties.
Salary: USD 500/month + 47% allowances.
Position 2: Trade & Investment Executive
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate degree (Economics, marketing, business, management). MBA preferred.
Good IT skills, fluent English & Amharic.
At least 2 years’ work experience preferred.
Should be under 40 years old.
Duties:
Identify business partners for Indian products.
Prepare market reports, assist in meetings with government officials, organize business delegations, etc.
Salary: USD 650/month + 47% allowances.
Position 3: Trade & Investment Assistant
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate in economics/trade-related work.
Fluent in English & Amharic.
Conversant with computers and social media platforms.
Under 40 years old.
Duties:
Similar to Executive role: Market research, assisting with business connections, organizing B2B meetings.
Salary: USD 500/month + 47% allowances.
Position 4: Executive Assistant
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate, fluent in English & Amharic.
IT skills, social media proficiency.
Knowledge of regional languages is a plus.
Under 40 years old.
Duties:
Organize files, maintain records, facilitate administrative requirements.
Salary: USD 350/month + 47% allowances.
