The Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Addis Abeba (Ethiopia) recruits 1 accounting and administrative assistant (m/f)  40 hours per week with effect from 23 September 2024 (or another date to be agreed upon)

Under the authority and supervision of the Head of Mission and the Deputy Head of Mission,

Embassy of Luxembourg would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position: Accounting and Administrative Assistant

Requirements:

  • You must have successfully completed secondary (or equivalent) studies or more
  • You are fluent spoken and written French, English and Amharic
  • You have experience in budgets and accounting
  • You are proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • You have excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Flexibility, resilience, patience and the ability to deal with difficult situations are characteristics that distinguish you
  • You have a high level of discretion and responsibility
  • You have a professional experience of two years in secretarial and finance duties preferably in an international organization or previous experience within a similar position

You will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Ensure the day-to-day management of the Secretariat of the Embassy
  • Manage the agendas of the expatriate staff as well as the official correspondence and communication
  • Liaise with other embassies, UN agencies and African Union to coordinate meetings/events
  • Oversight of the archiving of all incoming and outgoing Embassy correspondence
  • Assist the expatriate staff with the management of accounting operations and manage the Embassy liquidities, ensure all calculations and data entries are correct
  • Monitor and ensure the proper execution of all embassy-related payment transactions and maintenance contracts for expatriate staff residences
  • Assist with the organization of incoming visits and official Embassy events, inside and outside Embassy premises
  • Assist the expatriate staff in all administrative procedures related to their professional duties and life in the country of posting (diplomatic ID, drivers’ license)
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the head of mission and deputy

Additional information:

Please note that the employment contract, including the salary, is governed by the labor laws in Ethiopia.
