The role involves translating media content, press releases, and human rights materials between Amharic and Tigrigna, Amharic and Somali, Afan Oromo and Amharic and English while also managing media relations, preparing press materials, organizing interviews and events, and monitoring media coverage related to the Commission’s work.
Ethiopian Human Rights Commission would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.
Position 1: Associate Human Rights Officer
Qualifications and Experience:
- LLB/LLM in Law, Human Rights Law, International Law
- Zero years of experience for LLM holders
- 2 years relevant experience for LLB or 6-12 months participation on Young Leaders Program (Internship Program)
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of Amharic and English is required
- Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous
SALARY RANGE: Gross monthly salary of ETB 17,750.00 – ETB 20,567.00 plus ETB 8,640.00 Housing allowance and ETB 3,300.00 Transport allowance, depending on candidates qualification, experience and earning history.
Location: Semera City Office, Jigjiga City Office
Position 2: Program Assistant
Qualifications and Experience:
- BA Degree or Level 4 Diploma in Management, Administration, Secretarial Science and Office Management, or related fields.
- 2 years of experience with BA
- 4 years of relevant experience with Diploma
- Experience in event management, travel and logistics is a strong plus
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of Amharic is required. Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous
SALARY RANGE: Gross monthly salary of ETB 9,667.00 – ETB 10,806 plus ETB 4,320.00 Housing allowance and ETB 3,300.00 Transport allowance, depending on candidates’ qualification, experience and earning history
Location: Head Office, Addis Ababa
Position 3: Human Rights Resource Center Officer
Qualifications and Experience:
- BA/MA degree in library science, information/ knowledge management or information science.
- 4 years of relevant experience in resource center management, documentation, knowledge management for BA holders, and 2 years of relevant in resource center management, documentation, knowledge management for MA holders.
- Proficiency in cataloguing and library/resource management systems.
- Strong research and information retrieval skills.
- Familiarity with digital resource platforms and online databases.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Creativity in promoting access to knowledge.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of Amharic required. Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.

Qualifications and Experience:
- LLM/LLB Degree in Law, Human Rights Law, International Law.
- 4 years of relevant experience for LLB and 2 years of relevant experience for LLM.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of Amharic required. Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous
