FH Ethiopia would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.

Position 1: Finance and Admin Officer

Duty Stations: Adet, Neader, Tahtay Maychew, Abergele Yechila, Tanqua Milash, Endabaguna, Mai Tsebri, Assosa

Duration of contract: One – Year Contract with possibility of extension (with 60 working days probation period)

For Endabaguna and Mai Tsebri temporary for six months

Closing Date: August 3, 2023                          

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining and safeguarding cash and fuel coupons, preparation of bank accounts and cash balance. He/she will be responsible for the project’s store in receiving and issuing commodities as well as controlling bin cards to show proper balance.

JOB LEVEL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Computer literacy included demonstrated proficiency with Outlook, Work, Excel and off the shelf accounting software, preferably MS Dynamics and Power BI
  • Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team-oriented environment
  • Skilled in influencing and obtaining cooperation of individuals.
  • Utilizes skills in conflict management.
  • Have analysis and problem-solving skill.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BA Degree degree in accounting and finance, project management field from a recognized and certified institution or university. At least 3 years relevant experience in grants management and financial/operational NGO environment is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Basic computer proficiency is Mandatory

Proficiency in English and knowledge of the local language

Position 2: Cashier Storekeeper

Duty Station: Endabaguna, Tigray

Duration of Contract: Temporary Contract

Closing date: August 5, 2023

Academic qualification / Work experience-

Minimum Diploma in Accounting with two Years’ experience preferably in a similar organization.

 Essential Competencies:

Position 3: WASH Advisor

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Duration of Contract: One year contract (Renewable with 60 days probation period)

Salary: As per the salary scale of the organization

Job Summary

The WASH Advisor is responsible for the overall technical backstopping of WASH related interventions of the ReFSA project. The position is also responsible for supporting the process of assessing funding opportunities and supporting technical proposals that reflect FH’s competitive advantage as per the respective donor’s rules and regulations. would align to existing FH technical guidance and contribute to the updating of any such a project and FH-wide resources (modules, manuals, policies…).  Also he/she will work closely with the national WASH Specialist, the regional and global technical staff to ensure harmonization of approaches, etc.

Job Level Specifications

⮚       Proven expertise with USAID rules and regulations including

⮚       Comfortable and persuasive when speaking before both large and small groups.

⮚       Ability to interact positively at all levels.

⮚       Demonstrated computer operating skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Google platform, basic Arc GIS data processing and virtual technologies.

⮚       Thorough understanding of development and/or missions.

Ability to work effectively under pressure

Experience

⮚       Six & above years of work experience with an International Non-Governmental Organization or other international organization in a relevant field, preferably at managerial level or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education/Certifications

⮚       BSc/Master’s Degree in Water Resource Engineering, Environmental health or other relevant fields.

Language

⮚       Proficiency in both spoken and written English; ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. He/ She have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Distinguishing Competencies

⮚       Good at leadership, influencing and communication skills, and demonstrable capability in relationship building at all levels.

⮚       Technical Training qualifications required:  WASH project/program Management-international certification has added value

Safety & Security Responsibility

⮚        Encourages compliance of Safety and Security principles and policies of the organization by all staffs;

⮚        Visiting project Offices and operational areas periodically to meet staff and making sure that all staff members are aware of the safety and security procedures;

⮚        Explains to staffs the reasoning behind the organization’s safety and security policies and procedures

⮚        Organizing local training sessions, such as First Aid, Fire Safety, and Defensive Driving for staff members.  If possible, he/she should conduct briefing and training sessions himself/herself;

⮚        Ensures that safety and security objectives are added to performance reviews and evaluations of all staff members;

Encourages staff to adopt safe and secure practices. Ensuring that updated personnel information related to safety (Record of Emergency Data) and security management are kept in Human resources.

Gender Responsibility

  • Provide adequate time to staff to participate in gender sensitivity workshops and related events.
  • Through observation, interviews, and spot-checks, ensure that the staff planning process is gender sensitive.
  • Build a better gender balance in staffing through affirmative action.
  • Observe if women staff are as involved as men in high-profile activities such as interaction with visitors and chairing meetings, and take corrective action if warranted.
  • Encourage female staff to participate in external networks (local and regional), as well as seminars and cross visits.
  • Facilitate open and regular discussions with staff on about the work environment, policies, and values convenient to gender issues.
