Global Women Empowerment Development Ethiopia would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: Animal Science Expert Field

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • MSc or BSc in Animal Science, Animal Production, Veterinary Science, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years for (MSc) or 5 years (BSc) relevant experience in livestock/poultry development, preferably in pastoral or agro-pastoral contexts.
  • Practical knowledge of climate-resilient livestock production, animal health, and feed/fodder systems.
  • Experience in NGO-implemented livelihoods, market systems, or resilience projects.

Preferred / Added Advantage

  • Fluency in Afaan Oromo and Amharic; working knowledge of English.
  • Experience working in Borena Zone or similar lowland pastoral settings.
  • Familiarity with Market Systems Development (MSD) and gender-responsive programming.

Position 2: Community Facilitators Field

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or BSc/BA in Rural Development, Agricultural Extension, Sociology, Gender Studies, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years (Diploma) or 2 years (Degree) of community facilitation, mobilization, or field implementation experience.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Residency in or strong familiarity with the assigned woreda and its communities.

 Preferred / Added Advantage

  • Fluency in Afaan Oromo is essential; Amharic is an advantage.
  • Experience in gender-transformative approaches, SAA, or women’s empowerment programming.
  • Female candidates and candidates from the target communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position 3: Field Accountant

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • BA/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field; ACCA/CPA part-qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with an NGO and on donor- funded projects.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, budgeting, and donor compliance and reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Peachtree/Sage or similar) and strong MS Excel skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Ethiopian tax and statutory requirements.
  • Preferred / Added Advantage
  • Fluency in Afaan Oromo and Amharic; working knowledge of English.
  • Experience managing field-level finances in remote or pastoral settings.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Position 4: Market System Development (MSD) Expert Field Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

MSc or BSc in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Agribusiness, Business Management, Development Economics, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years (BSc) or 3 years (MSc) experience in market systems development, value chains, private-sector engagement, or enterprise development.

Demonstrated understanding of the MSD / Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) facilitation approach.

Experience linking smallholders/enterprises to markets, finance, and services in rural or pastoral settings.

Preferred / Added Advantage

Fluency in Afaan Oromo and Amharic; good written and spoken English.

Experience with women’s economic empowerment and gender-responsive market facilitation.

Knowledge of the Borena livestock and horticulture market context.

Position 5: Cashier

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or BA/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of cashier, cash-handling, or junior accounting experience, preferably with an NGO.
  • Working knowledge of cash-handling procedures, basic bookkeeping, and financial controls.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software.

Preferred / Added Advantage

  • Fluency in Afaan Oromo and Amharic; basic English is an advantage.
  • Experience handling cash for field activities in remote or pastoral settings.
  • High level of integrity, reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
