GOAL is a non-profit organization working in Ethiopia for over 30 years. Our goal is to ensure that the poorest and most vulnerable people have access to basic rights such as shelter, food, water, healthcare, and education. We implement various development, resilience, recovery, and humanitarian programs, taking into account issues like gender, accountability, child protection, and HIV/AIDS. Currently, we work with different communities and stakeholders to respond to crises and build resilience in Ethiopia. Our focus areas include nutrition, water and sanitation, livelihoods, cash assistance, non-food items, and protection. We also work on recovery and development projects, particularly in the Oromiya region, focusing on livelihoods, economic opportunities, health, and water and sanitation. Additionally, we have a program for street children in Addis Ababa and Hawassa, implemented with local partners.

GOAL Ethiopia would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.

Position 1: Area Senior Finance Officer  

Job Requirements:

BA degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Finance in an NGO environment

Qualifications:

  • Excellent related technical skill and application to maintain vehicles, motorbikes, and generators.
  • English Language particularly to refer service manuals and reports.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill
  • Team oriented, flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate.
  • Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities,

Desirable Qualities, skill & competency:

  • Experience and knowledge of USAID/OFDA, ECHO/EU, UN agencies, Irish Aid, etc. fund management.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to details and commitment to confidentiality
  • A demonstrated ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and process information in support of changing program activities is necessary
  • An impeccable professional standard of finance and procurement ethics as well as the willingness and ability to enforce compliance with GOAL and donor policies and procedures is essential. 
  • Ability to manage grants if multiple donors.
  • ·  Understanding of the programme nature and willing to travel and live in field site, with frequent traveling   from site to site.
  • High commitment to maintain an up-to-date and efficient HR information and record keeping system.
  • Adherence to the requirements set by the HR Manual and donor guidelines.
  • Experience in handling Financial and HR activities, general management/administration skills.
  • Very good knowledge and application of MS-Office, especially Excel.
  • Good English communication skill (written and spoken).
  • Very good human relation skills, ability to explain
  • Team oriented, flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate.
  • Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities,
  • Knowledge and application of advanced excel and Data management tools

Position 2: Social Behavior Communication Change Officer – Nutrition       

Job Requirements:

  • Good communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.

  • Good English language skills, ability to speak, read and write local language is a must.

 Desirable Requirements:

Qualified and experienced candidates from the targeted locations.

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • At least two years previous experience in nutrition program and SBCC,
  • Diploma and above in nutrition/public health or social science,
  • Good communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of nutrition, care group approach and SBCC
  • Willing to live and work within the community,
  • Ability to speak, read and write local language is a must.

Position 4: Logistics, Admin and Finance Officer      

Job Requirements

  • BA/Diploma in Accounting or related field with 2/4 years’ experience in Finance in an NGO environment
  • Previous logistics, finance and HR/admin experienced with NGO’s or private field.
  • Has initiative; creativity and independent to perform the job properly.
  • Dynamic person
  • good communication skill both verbal and written in English and Amharic
  • Honest and know how to manage problem resolutions.
  • Management skills of staff (subordinates)
  • High level of accuracy, attention to details.
  • Ability to deliver task on deadline.
  • Willing to travel to remote areas and to camp in the field, ability to work flexibly including weekends and willingness to travel and work in rural locations and live in basic conditions.
  • Understanding the nature of emergency in Humanitarian Response Programme and willing to travel and live in field site, with frequent transfer from site to site.
  • Very good knowledge and application of MS-Office, especially Excel.
  • Good English communication skill (written and spoken).

Desirable/Advantageous Credentials:

  • Very good application of SAGE

  • Knowledge and application of other accounting software package, Peachtree, SUN, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in interpretation and application of Ethiopian Labor Law and other relevant legislations relevant to HR.
  • Having Training on any HR related areas.
  • Knowledge of local language

Position 5: Production &Marketing Expert (Crop&Livestock)    

Key qualities, Skills and Competences:

Essential Requirements:

  • At least 4 years previous experience in agricultural marketing, agri-business, commercial farm business
  • An appropriate 1st degree and above in Production and marketing/ business related fields
  • Ability to work within a team of professional staff from diverse technical and cultural backgrounds
  • Able to work independently and act on own initiative
  • Good communication, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Good computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Good English language skills, ability to speak, read and write local language is an added value

Desirable Requirements:

  • Qualified and experienced candidates who originate from agro / pastoral communities.

Language Requirement

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Oromifa for woredas in Borana/Guji Zone, Somali for woredas in Liben/Somali Zone
