Hybrid Designs PLC (Ride), an innovative IT company in Addis Ababa, is launching an online platform to enable travelers hail a RIDE on demand. RIDE is the largest taxi booking platform in Ethiopia, primarily operating in Addis Ababa and Djibouti. Founded by Samrawit Fikru, it has become one of the most recognized brands in Ethiopia over 11 years.
The Entrepreneurship in the Digital and Gig Economy (EDGE) program is a five-year national initiative developed by the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Hybrid Designs and its consortium partners. The program aims to unlock over 300,000 dignified and fulfilling employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged young people across Ethiopia. Through interconnected components including youth awareness, skill development, enterprise development, and ecosystem support, EDGE works to transform the outsourcing landscape to better serve the needs of financially disadvantaged young women.
Position: Finance and Compliance Assistant
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BA/MA) in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or related fields.
Experience: * 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
- Previous experience with Mastercard Foundation programs or initiatives is highly desirable and considered a great asset.
Technical Knowledge:
- Demonstrated understanding of financial management, disbursement, and project funding compliance.
- Knowledge of budget preparation, monitoring, and management.
- Familiarity with organizing and assisting with workshops, trainings, and large-scale program events.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and financial software or data management systems.
- Basic understanding of procurement, contract management, and compliance protocols.
- Solid understanding of project implementation processes in a development setting.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to answer directly to the Finance Officer regarding all financial tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in inclusive and gender-sensitive environments.
- Strong organizational skills to manage financial data and strict deadlines.
Location: Addis Ababa, with travel to regions from time to time
