One of the largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the world, the International Rescue Committee supports vulnerable individuals and communities in over forty nations with aid, rehabilitation, and development assistance. In 1999, in response to a severe drought in Ethiopia’s Somali region, we began working there. Currently, we are helping Ethiopians and refugees in ten regions of Ethiopia by implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectoral emergency response.

International Rescue Committee Ethiopia would like to recruit qualified and competent candidates for the following positions:

Position 1: – MHNT Midwife Officer

Qualifications: BSC in Midwifery with at least 3 years proven experiences and having NGO experience is highly desirable.

At least 1 year of clinical experience in directly managing RH, including family planning), antenatal care, delivery, postpartum care, comprehensive abortion care, neonatal care, understanding and familiar with adolescent-friendly Reproductive health care services.

Language: Excellent written and spoken English including local language (Afan Oromo).

Position 2: – MHNT Nurse Officer

Qualification: Minimum work experience of 2 years for MPH/MSc, 3 years for BSc Degree

Basic supervisory/managerial skills with strong inter-personal skills.

NGO experience in emergency health response project activities is preferable.

Demonstrable experience in working with communities in participatory approaches and capacity building of health centers.

Ability to plan, organize, and supervise implementation of emergency health response projects.

Good technical and report writing skills with computer skills and knowledge.

Position 3: – MHNT Team Leader

Qualifications: Minimum work experience of 3 years for BSc Degree, 2 years for MPH/MSc Degree holders

NGO experience in emergency health response project activities is preferable. Demonstrable experience in working with communities in participatory approaches and capacity building of health centers.

Position 4: – MEAL Officer

Education and experience:

 University degree/MSc in Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Economics, Demography, and relevant field.

3 years of relevant experience with the first degree, 2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree & NGO experience is a plus.

Possess basic technical knowledge of M&E approaches and techniques in some or all the following areas: Outputs, Outcome monitoring; Theories of Change, Logical frameworks, Data collection, Basic data analysis, Accountability, Client feedback mechanisms.

Experience in conducting primary quantitative data collection and data entry.

Position 5: – Monitoring & Evaluation

Qualification & Experience

BA degree or Diploma/Level IV in social science and another relevant field of studies

0-year work experience for BA Degree or 3 years work experience for Diploma/10+IV holders

Analyze and communicate data in a way that facilitates effective decision making

Proactively engage with clients and community members, acting as a community liaison focal point

Driven and able to balance multiple tasks, commitments, and to work flexibly in a team

Creativity, curiosity and passion, and the ability to develop and test new ways of working and solutions to problems

Strong oral and written communications in local language and Amharic is required.
