They focus on improving health outcomes through RMNCAH services, PHC, community health programs, digital health, HIS, supply chain management, public health emergency responses, and social and behavior change.
JSI would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.
Position 1: Learning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (LME) Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Support data cleaning for the QHA baseline assessment, follow up surveys, and operational research.
- Importing and exporting data from different sources.
- Organize raw data for analysis including formatting, labeling, filtering, sorting, etc.
- Cleaning and formatting data using statistical software such as SPSS or Stata.
- Creating and maintaining data dictionaries.
- Formatting data in a consistent and user-friendly way.
- Conducting exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns.
- Creating visualizations and reports to communicate the findings to stakeholders.
- Providing technical support to program staff on data collection and analysis.
- Conducting statistical and geospatial data analysis using appropriate data analysis techniques.
- Support Area Implementation team to identify and address data quality issues.
- Support the team on conducting RDQAs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- BSC in statistics, epidemiology, information systems, or a related field is required.
- Fresh Graduate with a 3. 0 cumulative GPA and above
- Quantitative data analysis and data visualization skill
- Ability to work comfortably in the MS Office package, Google suite and Statistical Software packages.
- Good oral and written communication skill
- Ability to work as part of a diverse and dynamic team.
- The ability to communicate in multiple local languages is a plus.

Position 2: Communication Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with the activity’s knowledge management and communication strategy and branding guidelines as well as that of USAID.
- Carry out any tasks relevant to the activity which may not be explicitly mentioned in the job description but lie in its nature and as assigned by the knowledge management and communications lead.
- Collaborate with technical teams for communication support requests.
- Create content that is consumable and actionable by the intended audience/recipients.
- Develop and seek out content for websites, social media pages, and public communications and write drafts.
- Collaborate with procurement staff to formulate and produce promotional materials.
- Collect content for the development of activity templates and standard presentations.
- Coordinate and assist the content development for different print and online media.
- Measure and monitor website and social media traffic statistics.
- Monitor the increase in traffic due to new content and take actions accordingly to improve the traffic metrics.
- Brainstorm and suggest new ways to improve social media traffic by tapping into new platforms and channels.
- Ensure that content is compliant with donor and implementing organization requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, political science, or a related field.
- Fresh Graduate with a 3. 0 cumulative GPA and above
- Passion for the topic of public health.
- Dedicated, reliable team player and highly adaptive, accommodative with intercultural sensitivity and ability to handle pressure and discourse in a professional setting.
- Good diplomatic and intercultural skills and a sound awareness and sensitivity to gender issues.
- Ability to think and act strategically and analytically, grasp new concepts rapidly and prioritize key topics.
- Proactive, and creative, bringing in own ideas and suggestions.
- Knowledge in social media content production and management is an advantage.
- Interested in design and video production with expert knowhow of applications such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro is an advantage.
- Strong research and documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel to other regions in Ethiopia.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365 applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, etc.)
- Very good technical affinity for media contexts including knowledge of a wide range of multimedia, web and digital tools, and content management systems is an advantage.

Position 3: Deputy Projects Director
Position Summary
The DPD will support the project director (PD) in overall strategic focus and management effectiveness of the projects. The position will lead the development of the overall work plan and technical periodical reports. The DPD serves on the projects’ senior management team and will ensure the technical and methodological soundness of all technical areas of the projects. In collaboration with the IPHCSD/SSD team and partners, the position holder will support the design and implementation of interventions aimed at improving access to, quality and accountability of RMNCAH-N services with reliable last mile commodity supply at PHC levels. The DPD will supervise the field operation teams and technical team leads working on HRH/blended learning, digital health, supply chain and quality of RMNCAH-N services. S/he will also work closely with the eCHIS team and ensure synergies and maximize impacts among investments. The DPD is a full-time position based in Addis Ababa and it is a member of SMT.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of master’s degree in public health or other health-related fields, with substantial and progressively responsible experience in health systems strengthening, service delivery, or other related field.
- Minimum of eight years of management and supervision experience; significant experience working in RMNACH programming is preferred and highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience to build and maintain productive working relationships with institutional partners and stakeholders, including high-level host country governments and international agencies.
- Experience managing similar projects in highly dynamic development environments.
- Proven leadership qualities and management skills that demonstrate a depth and breadth of technical expertise relative to the Activity.
- Strong English communication skills (both written and spoken);
- Strong analytical and clinical skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing institutional capacity in the health system in Ethiopia;
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as needed.
- Excellent working skills with the use of MS Office and Google Suite of projects (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, etc.).

Position 4: Human Resources Manager
Position Summary:
The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources for the projects, including recruitment and hiring of staff, onboarding and off-boarding, maintaining HR files, ensuring HR compliance, performance management, policy development and enforcement, and staff training and development, among other tasks. The HR Manager will be responsible for trouble-shooting HR issues, coming up with solutions, and being proactive in all aspects of HR management for the project. The HR Manager will work very closely with the Finance & Operations Director, Project Director, Project technical teams, JSI/Ethiopia Operations Director, and home office backstopping team to ensure they are regularly updated and informed of all HR related matters on the project. The HR Manager will supervise other HR-oriented staff, including any HR Assistant/Offers. HR Manager will report to the Finance and Operations Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (equivalent) in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field;
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a human resources role, demonstrating increasing responsibility over the years. Management experience preferred;
- Experience working with the international NGO community is required;
- Familiarity with Ethiopia labor law;
- Ability to handle confidential information and handle sensitive and/or complex HR issues;
- Experience developing and delivering staff trainings;
- Excellent diplomatic, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills;
- Proven ability to create and maintain effective working relations with staff and senior management, NGO partners, host country governments, and donor organizations;
- Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, mentor and direct staff while creating a positive team environment;
- Through understanding of and ability to analyze human resources functions;
- Expert computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Must be fluent in Amharic and English (written and spoken);
- Ability to handle confidential information with care;
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% time to regions throughout Ethiopia.

Position 5: Senior Finance Officer
Education, Experience and Skill
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field of study,
- At least six years’ work experience in financial management and/or accounting experience in an NGO setting
- Demonstrated working experience with donor rules and regulations,

- Self-starter and proactive in working with all teams (technical, Home Office)
- Proficient in relevant computer applications and accounting software including QuickBooks
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and willingness to take initiative

- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Position 6: Senior procurement and Logistics Officer
Education, Experience and Skill
- Bachelor of Arts in Management, Logistics and Procurement.
- At least six years’ experience in Management, Logistics and Procurement in an NGO setting.
- Candidates with previous managerial experience will have added value.
- Demonstrated experience with Gates Foundation and USAID regulations.
- Demonstrated good communication skills including written English.
- Self-starter and proactive in working with all teams (technical, Home Office).
- Proficient in relevant computer applications
- Proven ability to work in a challenging and progressive working environment.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, as well in a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines and take initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
- Knowledge of Ethiopia importation process, customs, and procurement procedures will have added value.
- Willingness and ability to travel out-of-post when required.

Position 7: Program Assistant and Receptionist
Required Experience:
- A minimum of advanced diploma in Business Administration, communication, secretarial sciences or related field or a minimum of advanced diploma in Business Administration or Secretarial Studies.
- Minimum of three (03) years of relevant work experience for degree holders and a minimum of four (04) years for diploma holders.
- Experience working in an international NGO program is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including courteous frontline communication, ability to work with varied team and demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision and direction.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point) and familiarity with the Internet.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated effectiveness producing accurate work product with attention to detail, even while under deadline pressure.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to excellent customer service.
- Proven success establishing effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, with collaborating partners, and with representatives of donor agencies and government ministries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage data and file.
- Flexible, detail-oriented, organized, adaptable to changing priorities, and able to take the initiative and to meet strict deadlines.
- Perform any other duties as required and/or assigned.
