Mediator Variable በቀላሉ በጥናት ለማረጋገጥ በፈለግነው (Dependent Variable) እና በአስረጂነት በምንጠቀማቸው (Independent Variable) መካከል ስለሚኖር ልዩ ግንኙነት የሚያስረዳ የVariable አይነት ነው፤ በ Mediation Model አጠቃቀም ህግ በአስረጂነት በምንጠቀማቸው (Independent Variable) በጥናት ለማረጋገጥ የፈለግነውን (Dependent Variable) በቀጥታ ተጽኖ መፍጠር በማይቻልበት ሁኔታ በሶስተኛነት (Intervening Variable ወይም Middle-Man በመባልም ይታወቃል!) ጣልቃ ገብቶ ያገለግላል፡፡

ለምሳሌ፦ ጫት መቃም ስለሚያነቃቃ ረጅም ሰዓት ለማጥናት ይጠቅማል የሚል መነሻ ይዞ ለተነሳ አጥኚ…….

1. ጫት መቃም Independent Variable ነው፤

2. ረጅም ሰዓት ማጥናት Dependent Variable ነው፤

3. ማነቃቃቱ Mediator Variable ነው ማለት ነው፤

Y (ረጅም ሰዓት ማጥናት) = f (ጫት መቃም (መነቃቃት) + ቡና መጠጣት + ሙዚቃ ማዳመጥ + error term)

ምን አልባት ጫት መቃም ብቻውን ረጅም ሰዓት ለማጥናት አይጠቅም ይሆናል! ነገር ግን የሰዎችን የድካም ስሜት በማጥፋት እና በማነቃቃት ለጥናት የሚኖርን ዝግጁነት ሊጨምር ይችላል! ስለዚህ ማነቃቃት (Mediator) ስለገባ ሃሳቡን ሙሉ አደረገው ማለት ነው፡፡

Mediator Variable በጥናት ለማረጋገጥ በፈለግነው (Dependent Variable) እና በአስረጂነት በምንጠቀማቸው (Independent Variable) መካከል በትክክል የሚያገናኝ ሆኖ ሲገኝ Full Mediation ይባላል። ነገር ግን የመረጥነው Mediator Variable በጥናት ለማረጋገጥ በፈለግነው (Dependent Variable) እና በአስረጂነት በምንጠቀማቸው (Independent Variable) መካከል በተወሰነ መልኩ ብቻ ግንኙነት የሚፈጥር ሲሆን Partial Mediation ይባላል፡፡

አንዳንዴ በጥናት ለማረጋገጥ በፈለግነው (Dependent Variable) እና በአስረጂነት በምንጠቀማቸው (Independent Variable) መካከል በትክክል ምንም ቀጥተኛ ተጽኖ በማይኖርበት ወቅት በVariable መካከል ያለው ግንኙነት በMediator Variable ላይ ብቻ ይመሰረታል፡፡

በተመሳሳይ Moderator Variable መጠቀምም ይቻላል፤ ለምሳሌ፦ በቁጥር መለካት የማይቻሉትን ጾታ፤ ብሄር፤ የኑሮ ደረጃ፤ ወዘተ እንዲሁም በቁጥር መለካት የሚቻሉትን ክብደት፤ እድሜ፤ ወዘተ መካከል የሚኖርን አቅጣጫ እና ግንኙነት ለማጠናከሪያነት ያገለግላል::

ለምሳሌ፦ ለጫት ሱስ ከሴቶች ይልቅ ወንዶች ተጋላጭ ናቸው! ብለን ብንነሳ የምክንያቱን ጥንካሬ የምንናረጋግጠው በModerator Variable አማካኝነት ነው፡፡

Mediator Variable is a type of Variable that explains the unique relationship between the Dependent Variable and the Independent Variable; The Mediation Model Act intervenes in a third party (also known as Intervening Variable or Middle-Man!
For example, for a researcher who has started with the premise that chewing khat is useful for long study purposes.

1. Chewing khat Variable is Independent Variable;
2. Long-term study is Dependent Variable;
3. The trigger is Mediator Variable;
   Y (long study) = f (chat) + coffee + listening to music + error term)
   Maybe chewing khat alone is not worth studying for long hours! But it can also increase our readiness for study by relieving and stimulating people’s fatigue! So, Mediator came in, so he made up his mind.
   Mediator Variable is called Full Mediation when it is the correct link between the Dependent Variable and the Independent Variable. However, the Mediator Variable you choose is only partially connected between the Dependent Variable and the Independent Variable, which is called Partial Mediation.
   Sometimes, when there is no direct impact between the Dependent Variable and the Independent Variable, the relationship between Variable is based solely on Mediator Variable.
   The same Moderator Variable can be used: For example: sex that cannot be quantified; Nation: Standard of living: Etc. and the weights that can be measured numerically; Age: Etc. It is used to strengthen the direction and communication between us.
   For example, men are more vulnerable to khat addiction than women! The strength of the cause is determined by the Moderator Variable.
