We are based in Washington, D.C. and work in sub-Saharan Africa, with particular emphasis on Ethiopia. We believe free and independent media are lifelines to the development of peaceful, prosperous, and democratic societies.
MERSA Media Institute would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.
Position 1: Project Associate
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Social Sciences, Communications, Business Administration, Medicine, IT or any other relevant degree.
- Prior experience working in a non-profit or development organization is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to live and work in Woldiya, North Wollo.

Position 2: Finance and HR Officer
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role with a non-profit organization, managing both finance and human resources.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to effectively use QuickBooks and other financial and HR software.
- Knowledge of local labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Ability to live and work in Woldiya, North Wollo.
Location: Woldiya
Position 3: Project Manager
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with non-profit organizations or civil society organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, implementation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of local norms, culture, and context in the Woldiya region is highly desirable.
- Strong experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.
- Ability to live and work in Woldiya, North Wollo.
