Position: Attaché
Educational Requirements:
- Applicants who have graduated in any field of study are eligible.
- No prior work experience is required (0 years).
An attaché is a specialized diplomatic officer or expert assigned to an embassy to represent their home country’s interests and advise on specific sectors.
Job Responsibilities – Attaché
- Represent the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Ethiopia in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Assist in promoting Ethiopia’s foreign policy, national interests, and diplomatic objectives.
- Monitor political, economic, social, cultural, and other relevant developments in the host country or assigned region.
- Conduct research and prepare analytical reports, briefs, and assessments on issues relevant to Ethiopia’s bilateral and multilateral relations.
- Maintain professional relations with government institutions, diplomatic missions, international organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support diplomatic engagements, meetings, official visits, conferences, and other government activities.
- Collect, analyze, and communicate information relevant to Ethiopia’s interests.
- Assist senior diplomatic officials with policy analysis, correspondence, briefing notes, and official documentation.
- Promote cooperation between Ethiopian institutions and counterparts in the host country in the assigned sector.
- Support the organization and implementation of bilateral and multilateral programs and initiatives.
- Attend relevant meetings and events and prepare reports or summaries for the Ministry.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between the Ethiopian diplomatic mission and relevant institutions in Ethiopia and the host country.
- Assist in protecting and promoting Ethiopia’s national interests within the assigned area of specialization.
- Prepare official correspondence, reports, presentations, and other diplomatic documents.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Mission or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
