Position 1: Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) coordinator
Competencies
Competencies are important in order for the employee and the organisation to deliver desired results.
Generic professional competencies:
Previous experience from working in a humanitarian/recovery context
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills;
Strong organizational and team building skills
Ability to prioritise responsibilities, carry out multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently whenever required
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
A University degree in law is strongly preferred and will be considered a very strong asset; alternatively a degree in social science, political science, or a related subject will be considered if the candidate has a sufficiently strong background in protection related work
Experience from working in a protection or legal assistance implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context, including the delivery of technical capacity building trainings
Experience with child protection related issues will be considered a very strong asset
Experience in project management, including supervision of staff and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures
Significant experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting on project activities
Prior experience of representing an I/NGO, and advocating on behalf of beneficiaries, in public forums (e.g. Protection Cluster/Sector)
Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Fluency in written and spoken English; fluency in written and spoken local language will be considered a very strong asset.

Position 2: ICLA Officer
Generic professional competencies for this position:
A university degree in law is a very strong asset; a social sciences degree with a background in protection related work may be considered.
Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in the field with displaced and/or vulnerable groups and communities.
Experience of working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context with IDPs/ returnees and preferably on LID and/ or HLP issues.
Previous experience of working in complex and volatile contexts.
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
Fluency in Somali, both written and oral essential.
Fluency in English, both written and oral essential.
Knowing Somali Language is must as the officer will have direct contact with beneficiary and will give information, Counseling, and Legal Assistance
Legal background and knowledge of laws, both formal and customary, procedures, and practices operative in the Somali region, particularly laws and procedures related to LID and HLP.
Some experience in working with government authorities and vulnerable beneficiaries.
Protection work experience with an INGO is an asset.
Proven skills and experience in case management and conflict resolution
Advanced computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

Position 3: Education Technical Assistant
Generic professional competencies:
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Education as a Technical Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
B.Sc./BA degree in education, educational planning and management or other related fields
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
Good knowledge of English, both written and verbal
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Good knowledge of the area and context in the Benishangul Gumuz Region
Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in local languages.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good cultural awareness and sensitivity
Some experience working on community mobilization activities in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Fluency in local languages is a requirement

Position 4: Area Programme Manager (National Position)
Generic professional competencies for this position:
BA in Sociology, Economics, Agricultural Livelihoods or related social science is required
MA in business administration in field of studies related to management is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years’ experience from a management position in a humanitarian/ recovery context
Experience designing and managing Integrated Programmes
Experience and working knowledge on Durable Solutions
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Expertise in one or more of NRC core competencies is an and advantage
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Basic computer skills and different reporting system
Knowledge on Agresso system
Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Knowledge of the context
Experience with start-up and programme development
Experience with Emergency Response
Experience with Programme management design and PCM tools
Understanding and experience of protracted crisis contexts
