We build affordable information systems to provide knowledge to those in extreme poverty. We work with other organizations to reach as many people as possible. We constantly experiment and collect evidence to improve our services and make a meaningful impact on society. PxD Ethiopia, in partnership with the Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI), is conducting a Profile Data Collection Survey to improve user profile information in the 8028 IVR system. We are hiring data collectors to conduct phone interviews for data collection.
Precision Agriculture for Development (PAD) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.
Position 1: Data Collector
Data Collector Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Attend 1-day training workshop on survey protocols, tools, and ethical guidelines.
- Conduct phone-based interviews with 8028 users according to assigned list.
- Follow structured questionnaire consistently across all interviews.
- Capture complete and accurate responses from participants.
- Follow protocols for informed consent, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Meet minimum target of 50 completed interviews per day.
- Submit completed electronic data daily to supervisors.
- Participate in weekly review sessions to ensure data quality.
Terms of Employment
- Data collectors will be compensated on a daily basis, subject to applicable taxation.
- Each data collector is expected to complete a minimum of 40 interviews per day.
- The duration of this engagement is 45 days.
- PxD Ethiopia will provide mobile airtime to facilitate the execution of the survey.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates for the position of data collector must meet the following qualifications and requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Prior experience in phone-based data collection is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and local languages (Amharic, Oromiffa, Sidamigna and Wolaitigna) is essential.
- Ability to effectively utilize phone-based data collection tools and applications.
- Availability to work remotely with access to a reliable internet connection.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of collected data.

Position 2: Finance Associate
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Finance and Accounting:
- Keep accurate records for all daily transactions.
- Prepare timely financial reports, including balance sheets, and monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process invoices and payments.
- Process and record staff advances.
- Follow-up on staff retirement plans and benefits.
- Update internal systems with financial data.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Support banking processes; deliver bank transfer letters.
- Support the financial audits.
- Support withholding tax requirements and payment compliance.
- Support the country director with organizational compliance matters.
- Assist with budget preparation.
Administration
- Procure and maintain office equipment and supplies; ensure items are in good working order and available.
- Assist in office management and maintenance of facilities.
- Support organizational events and workshops, including the production and distribution of materials.
- Support logistical and administrative aspects of program activities, including asset management.
- Manage and coordinate staff and visitor travel, in and outside of Ethiopia.
- Support the process of vendor setup, and purchase orders in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Collect monthly, quarterly, and annual data as directed by the Country Director.
- Support day-to-day administration activities and record keeping and filing.
- Provide additional administrative support to staff as directed by the Country Director.

The following qualifications, skills and experience are important:
- Accounting basics.
- Good with numbers and figures and analytical acumen.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Good understanding of financial systems.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Good communication skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- A bachelor’s degree or an industry-relevant equivalent.
Workplace: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with current and ongoing work authorization
