Position 1: Emergency Project Coordinator
Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI):
- Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
- Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
- Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
- Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
The Individual:
- MSc/BSc in Rural Development, Agriculture, Economics, Development studies, Public Health, Hydraulic Engineering, Sociology or other related fields is required with a minimum of 7 years working experience.
- Good managerial experience, including managing budgets
- Equipped with sufficient level of awareness on: Early warning concepts; Disaster risk management practice and knowhow; food security framework; good understanding of national government policies and agro-pastoralist awareness
- Knowledge of Plan policies and procedures, Sphere and the Red Cross/ NGO Code of Conduct
- Knowledge of child rights programming
- Good knowledge of field level realities of humanitarian NGOs work;
- Knowledge of FSL, WASH, DRR, CTP, EWS, DRR and DCM;
- Good understanding of the external operating environment including government policies, strategies, guidelines and operating procedures in managing emergencies and disasters in the country Perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.

Position 2: Wash Coordinator
Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

- Ensures that all staff sign safeguarding policies;
- Implement Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
The Individual
Educational Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Sanitary Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Health, or related disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience in water supply and sanitation development, construction supervision, and Contract Administration out of which a minimum of 2 years of NGO experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the management (feasibility study, design, construction supervision, contract administration, etc. of solar-powered water system projects) of water supply and sanitation projects and infrastructures.
- Experience in solar projects particularly solar-powered water supply system design, construction, operation, and maintenance skill
- Experience in preparation of bills of quantities and specification, bid document preparation and evaluation, contract document preparation, negotiation management, as well as supervision and administration of projects.
- Experience and Knowledge of using Water CAD, AutoCAD, and related software packages are advantageous.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the water, sanitation, and hygiene sector.
- Knowledge & experience in supervising solar-powered water system infrastructures.
- In-depth knowledge of project cycle management and child-centred community development programming.
- Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges opportunities, and implications to community development.
- Knowledge of effective participatory Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research systems and processes.
- Experience in the implementation of solar projects is advantageous.
Skills Specific to the Post and Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with colleagues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Numeracy and the ability to interpret financial data, in order to understand budgetary processes including planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate options including planning skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications.
- Ability to interpret financial data, in order to provide management support to budgetary processes including planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Strong, demonstrable grants management and compliance experience.
- Resilience, adaptability, and flexibility: the ability to operate effectively under a stressful working environment, often under tight timelines and high donor expectations
- Child center development and Gender awareness.
- Fluency in English and Amharic languages
- Knowledge and skill of local languages is a plus.

Position 3: Education in Emergency Coordinator
The opportunity:
The position holder is responsible for assessing, analyzing, designing, and implementing the education components of the project. They will coordinate with other emergency response team members and Plan staff to ensure a rapid and effective response. The EiE coordinator will actively participate in technical coordination, support, and advocacy with country-specific Education Clusters and other stakeholders.

- BA/BSc degree in Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration, Pedagogy and other related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of humanitarian aid experience applied in emergency/recovery response operations preferably in the area of education in emergency/recovery, refugee experience is more preferable
- Basic knowledge on Minimum standards for education highly knowledgeable and conversant of child protection and education in relation to emergencies.
- Good understanding and experience in program coordination and management (assessment, designing, planning, implementation, report writing, monitoring and evaluation etc…) and supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience working on emergencies and familiarity with Minimum Standards of Education – preparedness, response and recovery.

- Review Local Travel advance requisitions
- Review Project advances
- Review Air Ticket payment
- Review Vehicle Rental payments
- Review DHL payments
- Review Hotel & Related payments
- Review Purchase & Work orders
- Review Petty cash replenishments.
- Review Consultancy Service, Translation service, Audit Service, Maintenance Service of Office Equipment, etc. payment accurately.
- Review Paper Printing & Design Services, Visibility Printing & Design Services, etc. payment accurately.
- Review the payment of Office, Warehouse, Expatriate Residential rent, GPA Insurance, Medical insurance, etc.
Payment Preparation (30%)
- Prepare summary sheet by staff for income tax deductions and submit to finance assistant
- Prepare summary sheet by staff for Pension contributions scheme and submit to the finance assistant
- Prepare a summary sheet monthly by the vendor for withholding tax and submit it to the finance assistant
- Prepare a summary sheet for stamp revenue and submit it to the finance assistant
- Prepare cost-sharing lists by staff and submit it to the finance assistant.
- Prepare summary sheet by staff for Provident fund scheme and submit to finance assistant.
- Prepare summary sheet by staff for savings and Loan repayments and submit to finance assistant.
Monthly Reporting (20%)
- Share and prepare part of the quarterly and year-end schedules/reports related to the area of the job assigned.
- Prepare monthly external vendor’s reports with the form from ERCA and upload them online to ERCA’s website.
- Perform other activities by self-initiative and /or instructed by the supervisor.

Qualifications/ experience essential:
- BA degree in Accounting
- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience (after graduation)
- Directly relevant professional experaince (e.g. payment processing)
- Sound analytical and problem-solving capability;
- Ability to influence others’ behaviour through effective relationship building; through current knowledge and understanding of relevant policies, frameworks, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of project processes, procedures, and systems.
- May require the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience.
Languages required
- Fluency in the English language is essential
- Knowledge of Local Languages is a desirable

Position 5: Sanitatio and Hygiene Promotion Assistatnt
The Individual:
- University degree in Environmental Health, water supply, public health, or a related subject. Adequate experience in the field will substitute for formal qualifications.
- Minimum 2 years of the total experience of which experience in the WASH sector and experience in emergency WASH is advantageous.
- Experience in hygiene promotion in a complex and demanding workload.
- Substantial experience in coordinating, mobilizing community, planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and reporting.
- Demonstrated work experience in designing, supervising, and implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructural programs in community, school, and health centers.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work in rural areas where the project is implemented, within approved security frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills and an ability to train and mentor staff.
- Desired spoken and written English.
- Good computer skills (particularly Excel, Word, and databases).

Position 6: Project Field officer (Livelihood and Business Development)
Duties and Responsibilities;
Business development
- Select beneficiaries as per the selection criteria and maintain high-quality data during the assessment.
- Facilitate the provision of training for selected youth beneficiaries on entrepreneurship and business proposal development.
- Support the trained youth beneficiaries to start their self-employed businesses.
- Monitor and track their business activities to make sure they run as per the schedule.
Employment linkage
- Utilize various sourcing channels in order to identify and strengthen contact with potential job sites engaged in multiple sectors that can be linked with the unemployed youths.
- Market the skills and experience of the IDP youth job hunters in line with the job sites that promise to give them opportunities.
- Working with the local authorities, partners, and communities in selection and intervention activities to avoid duplication and to target the most needy youth IDPs.
- Conduct candidate screenings to assess the qualifications, skills, and cultural fit.
- Provide program reports that are timely and meet institutional and donor requirements.
- Develop a strong complaint and feedback mechanism for maintaining sound provision of the project activities.
- Enhance referral pathways and ensure communities know about the project’s purpose.
- Support the planning, implementation, and follow-up of the cash provision process with other project staff.
- Ensure gender, environment, inclusion, and other important cross-cutting issues are taken into account.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned by project field coordinator.
Job Requirements
- BA in marketing management, business administration, development studies, economics, sociology/social work, and other related social science fields;
- With minimum of 2 years related working experience,
- NGO experience is preferable
- Required Languages – English and Amharic
Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills;
- Demonstrated capacity to undertake assigned responsibilities and work under pressure;
- An excellent team player;
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, including relevant staff working for the GNE;
