Position 1: AGRICULTURE LEAD, FOOD FOR PROGRESS SUNGOLD PROJECT (GRADE J / FSN 10)
About You
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Agricultural Extension and Agronomy or related fields and 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Agricultural Extension and Agronomy or related fields and 6 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional experience in agricultural value chain development and extension services.
• Experience in edible oils production, contract farming, demonstration plots and improving market access for value chain actors.
• Experience in value chain promotion, adoption of technology and improved farming practices in Ethiopia.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse partners such as agrodealers, financial institutions, research institutions and private sector companies.
• Experience providing guidance to project partners and staff.
• Verbal and written fluency in English and Afaan Oromo.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout Ethiopia to regional activity sites.
Position 2: AGRIBUSINESS/MARKET OFFICER, FOOD FOR PROGRESS SUNGOLD PROJECT (GRADE L / FSN 8)
About You
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development and/or Business Administration and 3 years of experience, or Master’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development and/or Business Administration and 1 years of experience.
• Experience in agricultural value chain, agribusiness and market systems development, and improving market access.
• Experience working with small-holder farmers in extension services, market access, contract farming and out grower schemes.
• Business development and entrepreneurship support, value chain analysis, market systems development, training and facilitation skills, data collection and reporting.
• Verbal and written fluency in English and Afaan Oromo.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout Ethiopia to regional activity sites.
Position 3: AGRICULTURE PRODUCTION OFFICER (GRADE L / FSN 8)
About You
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Agricultural Extension and Agronomy or related fields and 3 years of experience, or Master’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Agricultural Extension and Agronomy or related fields and 1 year of experience.
• Experience and knowledge in agricultural (especially soybean/sunflower) value chain development, stakeholder coordination, partnership building and strong facilitation and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating and working in multidisciplinary teams, bridging technical with operational staff.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, and with multiple concurrent demands.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to write and communicate clearly.
• Verbal and written fluency in English and Afaan Oromo.
• Ability to travel and work throughout Ethiopia including in difficult terrains and conditions.
Position 4: FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION OFFICER, FOOD FOR PROGRESS SUNGOLD PROJECT (GRADE L / FSN 8)
About You
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience, or Master’s degree and 1 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional accounting training.
• Experience working with financial and banking institutions in Ethiopia.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of tax laws in Ethiopia.
• Proven capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and set priorities.
• High level of personal and professional integrity, motivation to perform at one’s best.
• Proficiency in computer technology and QuickBooks accounting software.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, team player, ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance.
• Excellent organizational skills (attention to detail is required), flexibility and capacity to multitask.
• Verbal and written fluency in English and Afaan Oromo required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• At least two years of experience working in Finance and Administration functions for a US government funded project preferred.
Position 5: FINANCIAL SERVICES LEAD, FOOD FOR PROGRESS SUNGOLD PROJECT (GRADE J / FSN 10)
About You
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, banking, economics, management, accounting, agricultural economics or other relevant and 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in finance, banking, economics, management, accounting, agricultural economics or other relevant and 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in the Ethiopian financial sector, RUSACCOs, and NGOs with the projects’ main focus on access to finance for MSMEs and agri-SMEs.
• At least 3 years’ work experience in agricultural finance in an Micro-Finance Institution or a bank in Ethiopia.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of public and private sector counterparts and other key stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
• Excellent and demonstrable in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the Ethiopian agricultural private sector, SME financing, and challenges related to financing agricultural SMEs in Ethiopia.
• Track record of successfully working with large financial institutions in Ethiopia.
• Verbal and written fluency in English and Afaan Oromo.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout Ethiopia to regional activity sites.
Desired Skills and Experience
• Specific work experience in agricultural SME financing, financial product design, and agricultural market linkage.
• Past experience working with international donors.
• Demonstrable track record of success with program design, performance management, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, and with multiple concurrent demands.
