Position 1: Study Site Coordinator
Job Summary
- The Study Site Coordinator, under the guidance of the Principal Investigators and Study Managers will:
- Work closely with the Oromia Regional Health Bureau, health facilities and health manager to facilitate effective implementation of the interventions included in the model at the health facilities and community levels
- Manage the routine day-to-day operation logistics and administration aspects of the study project at site level
- Plan, implement and evaluate implementation support, program learning, and outcome assessment activities at the study site level
- Organize a regular meeting with the staff deployed at Batu and Meki sites, take notes, and routinely communicate the study managers, hospital, and health center study teams.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and deployment of Implementation Support and Learning Research Assistants (ISL-RA), Outcome Measurement Research Assistants (OM-RA), Study Site Assistants (SSA)
- Facilitate trainings of health facility leadership, facility senior physicians, general practitioners, nurses, midwives, health extension workers and the health development army on the project objectives and expectations with the research team
- Conduct regular supervision of the day-to-day activities of Implementation Support and Learning Research Assistants (ISL-RA), Outcome Measurement Research Assistants (OM-RA), Study Site Assistants (SSA)
- Support the implementation of standard operating procedure and protocols for the interventions and development of instruments and protocols for data collection;
- Develop and submit regular implementation, program learning, and outcome assessment reports
- Supervise proper installation and use of project supplies, software and equipment by research and hospital staff
- Work closely with Implementation Support, Program learning and Outcome Measurement Coordinators
- Execute other tasks given by the study manager
- The Site Coordinator will be based in Batu town with frequent travel to the study sites in Meki town, Admi Tulu Judo Kombolcha Woreda and Dugda Woreda.

Basic Qualifications:

- Written and verbal fluency in Afan Oromo and English languages and knowledge of spoken and team members is required.

Position 2: Implementation Support and Learning Research Assistant (ISL-RA)
Job Summary:
- The Implementation Support and Learning Research Assistant (ISL-RA), under the guidance of the Implementation Support and Program Learning Coordinators, Principal Investigators and Project Managers will:
- Work closely with the Woreda Health Office, health facilities and healthcare providers to support the implementation of the interventions included in the model at the health facilities and community levels
- Assist the training of health facility leadership, facility senior physicians, general practitioners, nurses, midwives, health extension workers and the health development army on the project objectives and expectations with the research team
- Support healthcare providers in early identification of pregnant woman, provision of early ANC and ultrasound scan services, promotion of facility delivery, identification and referral of women who are at high risk of preterm birth and eligible for ACS use; provision of safe ACS, facilitate safe referral of pregnant women and newborns.
- Support the identification of preterm/LBW births, provision of quality Small and Sick Newborn Care and Specialized Lactation Support to preterm/LBW infants
- Identify effective and ineffective strategies to provide early ANC, early ultrasound scan, ACS use, improve referral, provision of Small and Sick New Born Care and Specialized Lactation Support to preterm/LBW infants
- Provide regular mentorship to the Study Site Assistants (SSA) on early identification of pregnant woman, provision of early ANC and ultrasound scan services, promotion of facility delivery, identification and referral of women who are at high risk of preterm birth and eligible for ACS use; and safe referral of pregnant women and newborns.
- Arrange regular supportive supervision and mentorship of implementation sites and service providers at health facility and community levels
- Support the QI teams in the hospitals and health centers to have regular meetings and discuss early ANC and ultrasound scan, ACS use, Small and Sick New born Care, and Specialized Lactation Support as a regular agenda.
- Conduct qualitative interviews with healthcare providers, managers, mothers, families, and community members, transcribe and submit high quality program learning data.
- Using structured checklist conduct observation of health facilities, care provision by and interaction among providers, mothers, and family members.
- Use key findings of the interviews to improve quality of early ANC and ultrasound scan, ACS use, Small and Sick New born Care, and Specialized Lactation Support service provision
- Contribute to the development of educational and inspiration (success) stories of mothers, family members, and healthcare providers
- Synthesize program learning data and communicate to heath managers for decision making
- Attend regular meetings with the research team
- Distribute project equipment and supplies, ensure their proper installation, and use (equipment and supplies, devices, guideline, protocols, registers, job-aids etc.) by the study sites
- Contribute to the development of periodic plan, reports and papers
- Execute other tasks given by the implementation coordinator and study managers
- The Implementation Support and Learning Research Assistants (ISL-RA) will be based in Batu and Meki town with frequent travel to the study facilities and communities in Admi Tulu Judo Kombolcha Woreda and Dugda Woreda.

Position 3: Study Manager
Job Summary
The Study Manager, under the guidance of the, Principal Investigator will:
- Coordinate the initiation of the project such as finalizing contractual agreement, budget transfer, document preparation, IRB etc.
- Coordinate, integrate, and monitor the performances of the implementation, program learning, and evaluation activities across the projects
- Plan, coordinate meetings, take notes, and routinely communicate investigators, regional health bureaus and ministry of health;
- Recruit, train, deploy, and supervise research staff
- Working closely with the study PI and investigators prepare standard operating procedure and develop instruments and manuals for data collection;
- Under the guidance of the project PI/Co-PI and working hand in hand with the Center and school admin staff manage the routine day-to-day project operation including logistics and administration aspects of the project.
- Develop program and financial reports and submit to the donor and government counterparts
- Oversee budgets, supplies, software and equipment, and directly supervise the field staff
- Contribute to the development of relevant and publishable peer reviewed articles
- Execute other tasks given by the project PI/Co-PI
- Project Managers will be based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to implementation research sites.

- Demonstrable experience with the Ethiopian health system, and working with relevant departments of Ethiopian Ministry of Health and Regional Health Bureaus.
- Experience working with international organizations and partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage communication and partnership with the Ministry of Health and Regional Health Bureaus, collaborators, stakeholders, and team members and be an ambassador for the ACS and SLS project.
- Written and verbal fluency in English is required.
