The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane-Yesus Development and Social Services Commission (EECMY-DASSC) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.
Position 1: SELF-HELP GROUP (SHG) NATIONAL COORDINATOR
JOB REQUIREMENT
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
The minimum required academic and professional skills for the jobholder include the following:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Community Development or other related social sciences (a Master’s degree is an added advantage).
• At least 3 years’ professional experience in managing community development programs.
• Experience in:
o working with rights-based approaches; experience working in SHG promotion will be an added advantage.
o working with women and/or children and strong commitment to women’s and children’s rights.
o facilitating participatory processes, such as PRA
o facilitating budgeting and budget control.
• Gender sensitivity.
• Strong co-ordination and organizational skills.
• Excellent monitoring, analytical, documentation and report writing skills.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
• Strong networking and partnership building skills.
• Openness to learn new approaches.
• Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Power-point and Outlook.
• A good team player, self-driven, capable of meeting deadlines and able to work under minimum supervision.
• Willing to travel extensively within the areas of operation and to work extended periods in the field.
• Ability to interact effectively with local communities.
• A valid Driver’s License with at least 5 years’ experience.
• Who can provide a clearance certificate from the police station that confirms a person has no criminal record
Contract: 12 months (with the possibility of renewal EECMY).
Location: The SHG National Coordinator will be based in Addis Abeba. The National Coordination Office will be located in EECMY/ DASSC.
