Position 1: Chief Executive Officer /CEO/
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the overall factory activities intact with Board of directors Strategic Plan.
- Prepare and present short and long term action plans for the smooth running of the factory and present periodic assessment report on the factory progress, as directed by the Board of Directors.
- Hierarchically administer the factory staff (both executive management members and subordinates) and continuously engage in their performance evaluation and report to concerned.
- Rigorously organize/restructure when deemed necessary the factory management team in consultation with the board of directors and hence enhance employee delivery of assigned duties and responsibilities towards the efficiency of the factory productivity.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to the company management team, to keep the team be aware of developments within the industry and to ensure that the appropriate standards are developed to meet the company’s mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant regulations.
- Propose a strategic and annual business plan and budget for Board approval and monitoring and reporting progress against these plans to ensure that the company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible
- Continuously assess staff capacity and competence, let staffs tuned motivated, and facilitate staff development and training workshops to maintain the quality and productivity of the factory products.
- Ensure the factory is operating in a cost effective way so that budget targets are met, revenue is maximized, and non-essential costs are controlled.
- Represent the company in major social and cultural events. Establish and maintain effective relationships with relevant government offices and agencies, local authorities, key decision-makers and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to enhance the company sales volume and promote the products to different market niches.
- Create intact relation with factory raw material suppliers, major buyers and represent the company in major negotiations of key contracts to secure the most effective contractual terms.
- Work on Enterprise Re-engineering and Enterprise Resource planning tools to ensure that the best possible products and services are on offer with efficient mechanisms.
- Organize and lead product development and improvement research unit to ensure that the company remains at the forefront of the sector in terms of cost-effective methods and approaches, and provides the required range and quality of services for any appropriate ISO certificate.
- Coordinate various departments and motivate the staff members to complete assignments considering external and internal deadlines.
- Ensure financial books of records are reconciled in time, avoid long overdue of receivables, closely manage credit sales and its collections, and seek weekly reports from the concerned departments.
- Ensue factory properties serviced and maintained regularly, insurances certificates are intact, vehicle fleet management system is accordingly of the company regulations.
- Ensure factory raw materials are acquired within the required schedule, work on resource mobilization strategies and present to board for farther approval, and maintain the factory liquidity as per the finance standard with the appropriate department.
- Oversee the preparation of the annual report and accounts of the company and ensure their approval and timely submission to the regulator.
- Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all health and safety standards and other statutory regulations.
- Execute Board of Director Resolutions as deliberated by the Boards various meetings. Performs any other assigned duties within the remit of the role, deliberated by the Board of Directors.
Job Requirement
- Education: MSc/BSc in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and related fields; or MA/BA in Management, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration and related fields.
- Experience: 10 years for second degree and 12 years for the first degree out of which 8 years’ experience in management positions (at least 3 years’ experience in soap industry)
Required Competence Level
- High dedication, commitment and leadership talent;
- A proven record of success in senior-level management, preferably in a related industry
- An understanding of human resource management, financial management, marketing management and strategic management principles and techniques;
- Ability to coordinate and direct subordinates and accept accountability;
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to explain and convince others orally and in written;
- Skill in interpersonal relations and computer knowledge
- Basic computer application skills
