Wako Gutu Foundation (WGF) is a national non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian and development organization established with overall objective of promoting inclusion of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities with the Civil Societies’ proclamation Number 1113/2019 bearing a registration number 0457.The foundation strives to improve the livelihoods of the poor and vulnerable pastoral and agro-pastoral communities using integrated and holistic approach to bring change in the food and nutrition security, Women and youth Economic Empowerment, Humanitarian Emergency Response, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Peace building and social reconciliation and Digital technology for Development.
Wako Gutu Foundation would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.
Position 1: Project Coordinator
Job duration: One year contract with possibility of extension after probation period
Required number: One (01)
Reports to: Program Manager
Duty Station: Wako Gutu Foundation Jijiga Project Office
Job Requirements
Desirable Skills:
Fluency in Writing and Speaking English Language and Somali and
Well demonstrated skills in team building, teamwork and synergized results.
Understanding of National development Policies and strategies.
Understanding of donors’ environment and NGO sectors operating in Ethiopia.
Willingness and commitment to work under stressed environment.
Well demonstrated skills in written and oral communication including report writings.
Demonstrated coordination skills, team building, self-reliance, community mobilization, and communication skills are highly valued.
Educational Background:
BSc/MSc Degree in Agricultural Extension, Agriculture and Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Resource Management and other related field with at least 5(five) years relevant experience with NGOs setting.
Position 2: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Coordinator
Job duration: One year contract with possibility of extension
Required number: One (01)
Duty Station: Wako Gutu Foundation Head Office; Finfinnee (With frequent travels to the field.)
Reports to: Executive Director
Job Requirements
Desirable Skills:
Fluency in Writing and Speaking English and Afan Oromo Languages; Writing and speaking Amharic is advantageous.
Well demonstrated skills in team building, teamwork and synergized results.
Understanding of National development Policies and strategies.
Understanding of donors’ environment and NGO sectors operating in Ethiopia.
Willingness and commitment to work under stressed environment.
Willingness to travel to remote operation areas of the foundation.
In-depth knowledge of project cycle management and community development programming.
Knowledge of participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and learning skills
Well demonstrated skills in written and oral communication including report writings.
Data collection, analysis and interpretation skills with good exposure to digital data collecting tools.
Educational Background:
MA/BA Degree in development studies, Agricultural Economics, Project Management, Sociology and other related field of Social Studies with at least 6/8 years relevant experience of which at least 4/5 years of experience with NGOs setting.
