World Vision Ethiopia would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following different position.

Position 1: – SPIR II Food Assistance Monitoring Officer

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:

MA/MSc or BA/BSc Food Science, Food Security, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Disaster Management, Agriculture, Rural Development, and related fields.

Required Professional Experience:

 3 – 4 Years of experience in food assistance / food aid programs, disaster mitigation and development related fields with a minimum of 3 years’ direct experience on food aid / food assistance monitoring.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and working understanding of PSNP and USAID/BHA Food Security and Resilience programs
  • Demonstrated capacity on food commodities monitoring
  • Experience in food assistance programing, Grants/project management, Market assessment and Analysis, Cash transfer programing, food aid monitoring and report writing.                                                       
  • Good understanding of humanitarian standards and core principles
  • Good knowledge of local context
  • INGO experience
  • Ability to work in high tension and high security risk situations
  • Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
  • Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

Office based with travel to the field

Travel: 70% Domestic travel is required

Required Professional Experience:

Work experience in Economic Development and Livelihood or any other relevant discipline

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

BSc/MSC/MA in Agricultural Economics, Rural development, and related

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Experience of data collection, collation, analysis, and report writing
  • Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive
  • Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets
  • Track record demonstrating high integrity, innovativeness, creativity, reliability and dependable
  • Team player, Self-motivator, able to work with limited supervision
  • Possess the ability to work with different partners, local authorities, local organizations and NGOs, to develop and maintain positive relationships.

Position 3: – MEAL Officer

Required Professional Experience:

With MEAL experience of at least of three years in relevant field and INGOs experience is preferred. Project management certified.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

Position 4: – Cashier and Storekeeper

Bachelor degree in Finance and Accounting.

1. Experience/background:

  • The incumbent must have bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting or related field with two years of related experience. OR
  • Diploma in Management or Accounting or related field with four years of related experience NGO experience is advantageous.
  • Good computer skill in MS Offices and operating office equipment (Scanning, Photocopy …)
  • Fluent in oral and written English and Tigrigna languages.

2. Special criteria:  Travel and/or work environment requirement

  • Work environment: Based in Edagaarbi
  • Travel:  Frequent domestic travel within the targeted woredas of the Central Zone

Position 5: Legal Advisor

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:

LLB degree in law from a reputable University

Required Professional Experience:

  • Five (5+) years of experience as legal officer/advisor for humanitarian organizations or related.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Technical legal skills and experience in labor relations, legal compliance management, litigation & advocacy, structuring and drafting commercial contracts, employment contracts, and other legal memos, legal writing and research, legal training, client relationship management, etc.
  • Understanding of the country’s Legal and political environments
  • Knowledge on country policy priorities
  • Strategic thinker and detail oriented
  • Strong network and influencing skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify issues, formulate opinions, make conclusions and recommendations.
  • Demonstrates effective computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite, intranet and Internet and databases used in work efforts.
  • High proficiency in in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to apply various administrative rules and regulations in work situations.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Experience in organizing events/meetings in an international setting.
  • Proven experience managing Legal, and Compliance issues.
  • Conceptual Skills (planning, organizing, strategic thinking, management process), Business skills (compliance, audit, policy, operations, finance, IT), Technical skills (risk management process, risk analysis and control, project management, vendor relations).
  • Interpersonal (motivator, negotiator, consensus builder, team builder), Personal (innovative, communication, consultative, advisory)
  • Diplomatic, mediation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

The position requires the ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Language Requirements

 Fluent in English and Amharic.  Minimum of one more additional national language is an advantage.
