ASDEPO’s mission is to improve the lives of needy mothers, children, youths, and elders by increasing their access to health and education services, supporting income generation, and improving the natural environment, using a holistic and participatory approach. ASDEPO is a local Civil Society Organization that works in all regions of Ethiopia to ensure that the poorest and most vulnerable, as well as those affected by humanitarian crises, have access to basic rights such as shelter, food, water, sanitation, healthcare, and education. ASDEPO implements various development, resilience, recovery, and humanitarian response programs while considering cross-cutting issues.

Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following different position.

Position 1: – IT Officer

Key roles and Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Keep computer systems running smoothly and ensure users get the maximum benefit from them
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnose and solve hardware or software faults
  • Help users troubleshoot technical issues
  • Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Manage accounts for onboarding and dismissal purposes
  • Repair or replace hardware parts
  • Test and evaluate new technology
  • Install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application problems,
  • Support the roll-out of new applications
  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
  • Develop specification for procurement purpose
  • And any assignment instructed by the supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Career Level: Senior-Level (3+ years’ experience)

Employment Type: Contract

Contract duration: 6(six) months with possible extension

Required Number: 1

Qualification:

  • BSc or Diploma in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and software applications.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and resolving hardware and software problems.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, security principles, and data backup strategies..

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year working experiences for BSc holders and minimum 3(three) years’ working experiences for Diploma holders in related fields.
  • NGO experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently in the project areas and to work under challenging conditions.
  • Ability to work within a team structure or independently, flexible, and can cope with stressful workload

Workplace: Dimma,Okugu Refugee Camp

Position 2: – Admitter

Introduction:

The Admitter will be responsible in managing the admission process and providing support to individuals seeking refuge. They are responsible for assessing the eligibility of refugees, ensuring compliance with camp policies and procedures, and facilitating a smooth transition into the camp environment.

Key roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring the refugee situation including movements, analysis of caseload profile, and change in trends
  • Verify the food collector both at GFD and school
  • Undertake refugees’ registration processes, implement bio-data updates and clean-ups on regular basis
  • Assist  biometrician in  verification of refugees
  • Compile  daily food  distribution data and report for project coordinator
  • Inspect  the beneficiaries food collection attendant
  • Provide statistics and data analysis of food consumed as required.
  • Keeping appropriate records to enable the provision of written reports as requested

Qualification:

  • Bachelors or Diploma (e.g., Computer science, IT, ICT and related).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and data management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 1(one) year working experiences for BSc holders and minimum 3 years’ working experiences for Diploma holders in related fields.
  • NGO experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently in the project areas and to work under challenging conditions.
  • Ability to work within a team structure or independently, flexible, and can cope with stressful workload

Workplace: Dimma,Okugu Refugee Camp

Position 3: – Quality Controller

Introduction:

The Quality Controller will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of services and operations within the camp. They are responsible for monitoring and evaluating various aspects of camp activities to maintain high standards and contribute to the well-being of the refugee population.

Key roles and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect food quality before and after the distribution
  • Establish solid food safety preventative measures after performing a
  • Perform  regular quality  risk assessment for food handling activities at the school
  • Establish and maintain coordination with store keeper,  School directors; School food management committee; local educational and health authorities for smooth support on food testing and inspection
  • Ensure food stores comply with WFP’s manuals on Storage of Special Nutritious Foods and Grains.
  • Propose proactively preventive measures to mitigate food losses and food incidents/foodborne diseases.
  • Follow up on the shelf life of foods in warehouses, notify and advise on the actions to be taken accordingly.
  • In the case of food quality issues identified, propose corrective actions to address the food quality issues and minimize losses of food.
  • Prepare regular reports related to Food Quality and Food Safety and provide regular updates to support informed planning and decision-making.
  • Perform regular commodity inventory at schools.
  • Work collaboratively with other project staff
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Bachelors or Diploma (e.g., Food science and Technology, nutrition and any other related field).
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and priorities in a refugee camp setting.
  • Experience in quality control, compliance monitoring, or a related field is preferred.
  • Understanding of refugee protection principles and humanitarian standards is an advantage.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year working experiences for BSc holders and minimum 3 years’ working experiences for Diploma holders in related fields.
  • NGO experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently in the project areas and to work under challenging conditions.
  • Ability to work within a team structure or independently, flexible, and can cope with stressful workload
