Position 1: WASH Officer (Readvertised)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and select the Community outreach agents from IDPs who will be part of the Community Hygiene and Sanitation mobilization and co-ordinate their work
- Design the contents and methodology of the Community Hygiene and Sanitation mobilization campaign as required by the project and according to the instructions of the WASH Team Leader and the guidelines of the humanitarian cluster working group;
- Prepares detail implementation plan, monitor and follow up the timely implementation of activities;
- Provides support and take part to identify, facilitate and provide various trainings for hygiene promoters, sanitation monitors and solid waste supervisors;
- Collects, compile and analyze baseline data; facilitate KAP/KPC surveys and present the result assessed about hygiene and sanitation situation of the target population before and after intervention;
- Monitors and follow-up to ensure the proper dissemination of hygiene and sanitation messages to the target beneficiaries;
- Devise different methodologies for successful achievement of DRC goal by providing technical and technology assistance;
- Provide technical advice for hygiene promoters, sanitation monitors and solid waste supervisors and monitor the activities;
- Scheduling most of his/her time to spend on field work attend hygiene and sanitation activities to facilitate for improved hygiene practices;
- Monitors the hygiene and sanitation situation in the project area and provide regular updates;
- Maintains close working relationship with government and other relevant partners in the target area;
- Collect, analyze and compile reports from hygiene and sanitation activities and propose better implementation strategy in consultation with the WASH Manager
- Represent DRC externally with community, local government, cluster coordination meeting and other stakeholders
- Mobilize the subordinates and lead WASH NFI distribution
- Collect and disseminate the outputs and drawbacks gained from hygiene and sanitation team in every month report of hygiene and sanitation promotion activities;
- Carry out other additional duties as assigned by line-manager.

Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
- Have technical background and knowledge in environmental health and 3 years of demonstrated work experience in designing and implementing hygiene and sanitation programs;
- Knowledge and experience in proper excreta disposal, solid waste management;
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills;
- Capable of training IDPs and motivating community support;
- Ability to understand the cultural context of the community, Experience in participatory techniques and community mobilization;
- Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain and prioritize work under pressure and able to work in an insecure environment;
- Excellent communication skill, preferably with the host community and IDPs
- Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities,
Job Requirements
EDUCATION: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
BSC degree in environmental health science, environmental engineering, public health, water supply and sanitation or other related fields.
LANGUAGE: (Preferable)
- Excellent skills in speaking, reading and writing English
- Knowledge of Afar language is an advantage
Salary: USD 540.00 to USD 656.00

Position 2: Protection Manager
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
- 5-8 years’ work experience within the field of law or protection, particularly within the field of migrant/IDP/refugee protection;
- Previous experiences as a protection manager or coordinator with a country wide management aspect preferred
- Specific experience in protection monitoring, community based protection, PSS and GBV is desirable
- At least 5 years with humanitarian NGO’s, UN agencies, relevant ministries and/or local authorities in migrants/refugee/IDP settings in complex emergencies;
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with and supporting national and local authorities as well as humanitarian coordination forums;
- Prior experience or familiarity with issues relating to mixed migration is a strong advantage;
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently unsupervised;
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and adapt in a complex and challenging environment;
- Experience with capacity building, and in convening and facilitating trainings and workshops;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective and working relations with staff members and other stakeholders
Education: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
University degree in gender studies, social sciences, law, social work, international development, or other relevant field from a recognized institution
Language: (indicate fluency level)
Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English.

Position 3: Legal Advisor
QUALIFICATIONS and AREAS OF EXPERTISE
The legal firm must have the qualifications and experience in the following or a combination of the following fields:

Position 5: Advocacy and Communications Coordinator
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Advocacy and Communications Coordinator provides overall leadership, coordination, and strategic direction to DRC’s advocacy and communications work in Ethiopia. Under the direct supervision of the Head of Programmes and the technical supervision of the Regional Advocacy and Communications Manager, the Advocacy and Communications Coordinator for DRC in Ethiopia will be responsible for supporting the engagement of key stakeholders in evidence-based initiatives to influence and lobby for the rights of affected populations on a diverse range of policy issues, as well as the development of key positions and messaging around pertinent issues to advance DRC’s principles and vision. She/he will also coordinate efforts on communications and visibility across all programmes.
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience):
- At least five years of humanitarian experience, including experience working in advocacy and communication on humanitarian issues, refugee rights, human rights, and/or development issues
- Strong understanding of the political system and context in Ethiopia, including familiarity with key stakeholders from government, UN, NGOs, Civil Society
- Demonstrated experience using cutting edge communication tools and technologies to engage and influence stakeholders
- Experience in social media strategy planning, content creation, and community management
- photography/design literacy
- Proven experience crafting messages in various formats (articles, press releases, websites, photos, success stories, blog entries, tweets, etc.) targeting a variety of audiences
- Exceptional, proven writing and editing skills (English) and the ability to summarise and repackage technical information in clear, compelling language
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage with diverse audiences
- Strong literacy in Microsoft packages with knowledge of Adobe products is a distinct advantage.
EDUCATION: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
- University degree in communications, international relations, journalism, law, or a related field
- Master’s degree in a relevant field an advantage

Salary: Salary Range: USD 1,001.00 – 1,217.00 per month which specific amount will be determined up on candidates experience and educational relevancy
