Ethiopian Minerals, Petroleum and Bio-fuel Corporation would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: Digital Marketing Officer

Purpose of the Job:

To effectively reach the target groups of the Corporation’s product consumer through the social media and electronic communication channels by implementing integrated marketing communication and building a sustainable Corporation identity and image.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the activities related to the Corporation’s digital mineral trading platform in collaboration with the respective teams.
  • Review and update the web page and social media pages of the Corporation.
  • Develop a social media strategy that collaborates with marketing, public relations and event and campaigns.
  • Create timely and engaging content optimized for platform used for intended audience.
  • Monitor sites for customer service opportunities and initiate conversations on behalf of the Corporation.
  • Create engaging and professional visuals that reflect the Corporation’s brand.
  • Customize social media pages (ex. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube), create original content etc.
  • Create and manage all published content (images, video and written).
  • Conduct online advocacy and open stream for cross-promotions.
  • Design, create and manage promotions and social ad campaigns.
  • Compile report for management showing results.
  • Engage in social media dialogues and answer questions where appropriate.
  • Monitor online ratings and respond accordingly.
  • Monitor trends in Social Media tools, applications, and channels.
  • Identify and report threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding the business.
  • Analyse campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the Social Media campaigns.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of Social Media campaigns.
  • Analyse, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.

Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management, Digital Marketing related fields with four (4) years of demonstrated experience.

Required Expertise and Skills:

  • Excellent writing skills and verbal communication abilities;
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage multiple projects;
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities;
  • Capable of identifying, attracting and engaging target audiences;
  • up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing trends and developments;
  • creative in devising informative, engaging and motivational digital campaigns;
  • proven marketing experience on different digital platforms;
  • experience with leading and managing social media marketing campaigns;

Position 2: Media and Communication Officer

Purpose of the Job:

To support the brand building of the Comapny through appropriate media by effectively implementing the media relations and advertising strategies and programs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement media strategies in support of organizational and campaign aims in partnership with the relevant campaign managers.
  • Develop and distribute releases to the full range of media outlets including national and regional TV, radio and print and proactively seek media opportunities that support the Corporation’s and campaign objectives.
  • Evaluate and report on the reach and impact of media activities through regular media monitoring and contribute copy to campaign evaluations.
  • Create and maintain media contact lists, liaise with individuals and media outlets and develop and manager relationships with key media partners including outlets, PR agencies and contractors.
  • Coordinate the development, production and distribution of audio-visual materials (TV and Radio), web-based advertisements and other broadcast media materials.
  • Support campaign and organization spokespeople through the development of media messaging, briefing notes and act as a media spokesperson when required.
  • In consultation with relevant campaign coordinators, oversee the development and running of campaign launch and media sites.
  • Brief external agencies including creative, digital and media planning agencies to deliver campaign activity.
  • Follow up advertising agencies’ campaign implementation and performance against agreed campaign activity.
  • Write and edit copy for a range of print promotional materials and publications including annual magazines, institutional profiles, adverts, online tools, promotional flyers.
  • Monitor press coverage and distribute to respective work units.
  • Identify and exploit media relationship opportunities from news to feature items and relevant targeted sector specific media

Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and communication, marketing or related fields with three (3) years of demonstrated experience.

Required Expertise and Skills

  • Proven experience as a media & communication officer or similar PR role;
  • Experience managing media relations;
  • Background in researching, writing and editing publications;
  • Proficient in MS Office and social media;
  • Strong communication ability (oral and written);
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to work well under pressure;
  • Creativity and problem-solving aptitude;

Duty Station: Head Office, Addis Ababa

Position 3: Manager, Project Office

Purpose of the Job:

To support execution of EMC’s strategy through the implementation of strategic projects that minimize costs, risks and increase successes rate by proper planning, coordinating and monitoring of projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design projects and proactively monitor their progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the project – focus inwardly on the internal consistency of the project, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other projects and the Corporation technical and specialist standards.
  • Manage the project’s budget, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realized benefits as the project progresses.
  • Develop project scope definition, project charters, project plans, implementation plans and post implementation reviews.
  • Manage, track and report on the health of all elements of the project plan, change control and issues and risks.
  • Provide assurance for the efficient and effective use of project
  • Monitor the delivery of projects to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the project plan and project governance arrangements.
  • Manage allocation of common resources and skills within the individual
  • Manage third party contributions to the project including communications with
  • Manage project vendor, subcontractors and partner
  • Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between
  • Develop and maintain strong project management across the delivery unit to ensure that all major projects are joined up and focus on the priority
  • Manage project risk by working with the business leadership on the transition to the new business as usual position.
  • Initiate extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the program are identified or issues arise.
  • Define the project’s management
  • Facilitate the appointment of individuals to project
  • Provide assurance for compliance with the pre-set standards and
  • Implement quality standards for delivery management and assure consistency in applying project management standards and project deliverables.
  • Assess delivery management of assigned projects and
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on delivery management to the project lead and the project steering committee.

Generic Duties of the Position:

  • Develop and implement the Division’s plans and
  • Develop, approve and monitor the Division’s
  • Identify human resources requirements of the Division and develop plan for meeting the
  • Develop implement and review relevant divisional policies and
  • Review, approve and submit Divisional reports to relevant
  • Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.
  • Manage disciplinary concerns of the Division’s
  • Represent the Division in internal and external
  • Participate in group decision making process by forming part of different groups/committees.

Qualification and Experience:

Master’sdegreein project management, Certified Project Manager (CPM), Business Administration or related fields with six (6) years of demonstrated experience out of which three (3) years in a project management/ managerial position. Or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration or related fields with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience in the field out of which four(4) years in a project management position.

Required expertise and skills:

  • Proven work experience as a Project Management in a complex and dynamic enviornment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong level of Excel, MS word  understanding required including modelling experience;
  • Financial and analytical experience;
  • Strong attention to details and technicalities;
  • Excellent organizational and technical abilities;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English language;
  • Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skills;
  • Relevant training and/or certifications on Project Management;
