Ethiopian Airlines Group Primary Basic Trade Union would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.
Position 1: SENIOR LEGAL ADVISOR
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Legal Advisor will provide expert legal support to the Union, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while safeguarding the rights and interests of its members.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide legal advisory services on any legal matters especially labor law and compliance matters.
• Draft and review contracts, agreements, and policy documents to ensure legal compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements in compliance processes.
• Lead legal awareness programs through training, articles, and workshops.
• Maintain comprehensive legal records and documentation (digital and physical).
• Conduct legal research on relevant laws and regulations.
• Handle grievance and disciplinary cases.
• Develop and implement compliance programs and organize capacity-building workshops for union members.
• Liaise with external lawyers; review and forward employee cases and other matters to be presented before courts.
• Facilitate dialogue and negotiations between workers, management, and external counsel to resolve disputes.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Qualifications and Requirements
• LLB or LLM degree in Law.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of labor law, contract law, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive legal matters with integrity and professionalism.
Salary: Negotiable
