Ethiopian Public Health Institute would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: Data Collectors

About You

• BSc in Human Nutrition, Food science and nutrition, Public health and Nurses with at least 1 year and above work experience in health research data collection (nutrition and health).
• Able to understand the tools developed for data collection
• Good communication and teamwork experience,

Language: For Oromia region; speaking and reading skills in Afaan Oromo and English and

for Afar region; speaking and reading skills in either in Afarigna or Amharic and English are mandatory.

Duty station/location: The selected candidate will be assigned to the study location in either Oromia or Afar region. Applicants are required to indicate their preferred region in their application letter based on the language requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Each data collector will visit the randomly selected Housholds from the list of eligible households.
• Identify and obtain informed consent from the selected target groups for a follow-up visit.
• The data collector would interview all selected target groups in the household and accurately record their responses.
• Review each questionnaire on the tablet prior to leaving the survey respondents house and make sure all questions are answered correctly.
• Data collector should be willing to stay at the study site until the end of the study period
• Each data collector is required to ensure the quality and integrity of the data collected are of high standard.
• Each data collector is required to maintain good team spirit with team members
• Each data collector should be willing to take additional responsibilities.

Position 2: Supervisor

Job Requirements

Master’s degree in Applied Human Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, Public Health, or other health-related disciplines from a recognized academic institution, and at least two years of professional experience with previous survey supervisory role.

Language:

For Oromia region; speaking and reading skills in Afaan Oromo and English and for Afar region; speaking and reading skills either in Afarigna or Amharic and English are mandatory.

Position 3: Proficiency Testing (PT) Panel Production Specialist

Qualification and Experience

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or other health laboratory related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience in health laboratory setting.
  • Proven experience in EQA programs.
  • Having training or experience on ISO/IEC 17043 is an added value.
  • Having practical skill in different laboratory testing methodologies, particularly in health laboratories.
  • Having experience in EQA Data analysis and feedback report generation.
  • Able to work as part of a team, but also independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to solve problems and work under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA).
• Job Location, Contract Duration and Remuneration
• Duration of contract: One year, with possibility of extension based on availability of budget and performance
• The specialist will be based at EPHI in Addis Ababa, with periodic travel to regions.
• Salary will be determined in accordance with the Ministry of Finance (MoF) contract staff salary scale.
