Mercy Corps Ethiopia would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.
Position 1: Senior Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Specialist
Job Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, International Development, Communications, or related field is required or demonstrated equivalent work experience in the field.
- Three to five years relevant field management experience, especially in the areas of monitoring and evaluation and learning and knowledge management;
- Strong management skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural issues.
- Previous experience working on USAID funded programs strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience and ability to professionally and appropriately represent the organization and negotiate with a diverse range of government officials, local organizations, donors and other groups for outcomes in the best interest of program implementation
- Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills are necessary
- Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English, including report development, writing and editing.

Position 2: Operations Director
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills
- BA/BS degree in Business and Administration, Business Development, Management, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years senior management experience in a corporate or an INGO sector, including experience in operational support including developing strategies with supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven ability in planning and organizing substantial tasks includes complex situations in both development and emergency contexts.
- Willingness and ability to change for the events of emergencies and good working relationships with incoming HQ teams (i.e. SRGE, TSU, GPL).
- Developing credibility with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of Mercy Corps.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead multi-disciplined and multi-cultural teams, sometimes in insecure and volatile environments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead and motivate qualified and experienced individuals with strong personal values.
- Analytical, decision making and strategic planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at various levels.
- Skills of coaching, mentoring, delegating and providing guidance to team members in the country program.
- Team building skills and understanding the key success factors in working in a team environment.
- Commitment to the humanitarian principles and to the organizational and programmatic goals of Mercy Corps.

Position 3: LOGISTICS MANAGER
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills
- BA/BS degree in Logistics, Transport and Supply Chain, Management, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 (three) years management experience in a corporate or an NGO environment.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of operations and logistics management experience.
- Hands on experience in handling admin and logistics at field level with close coordination with the program team.
- Effective verbal and written communication, organizational, prioritization and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and local languages in the field location.
- Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment.

Position 4: Finance Director (HRA)
Job Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
- A BA/S or equivalent in Accounting or Finance required; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 7(seven) years of relevant field or management experience of complex, multi-dimensional programming including administering subawards.
- At least 4 years’ experience in grants management as well as an understanding of USAID regulations required.
- At least 3 years’ international experience required; international NGO/PVO field office experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience and skill with administrating solicitations for subawards, assessing potential subrecipients and the proven ability to oversee a team that is responsible for monitoring subrecipients.
- Strong skills and experience working with donors to obtain approvals and waivers as necessary for compliance with donor regulations.
- Prior management experience and strong organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent oral and written English skills required; proficiency in English is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment.

Position 5: Protection and GBV Specialist (re-advertised)
Job Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
- BA degree in Gender and social development, Sociology, Psychology, Social work, or other similar social science field of studies
- Minimum four years’ work experience in GBV, Child Protection and Protection related roles (Experience working in NGO is an advantage)
- Success Factors
- Skill in direct counselling and psychosocial service provision to Vulnerable children, GBV survivors and other trauma affected community members.
- Ability and willingness to frequently travel to project areas.
- Good training facilitation skill
- Fluent in communicating in English (knowing local language is a value add)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in closely working with regional and Woreda government offices.
- Excellent coordination skill
- Communication skill, good human relations
- Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality and social inclusion
