Position 1: WPS Program Coordinator
Job Summary
The WPS Program Coordinator (PC) is a senior position in charge of the NEWA’s program operations.The aim is to execute, facilitate and exercise effective day-to-day coordination and management of projects on Women Peace and Security, according to the Network’s, general standards and institutional culture. The PC will engage in fundraising/ resource mobilizations, and provide technical assistance and guidance to the program and project officers.
The PC contributes to ensuring all WPS projects meet the mission and objectives of NEWA as a national agency for Gender Equality, Women Empowerment, and the fight against GBV/VAWG. The incumbent confirms effectiveness, efficiency and meeting quality standards by working in a team, closely monitoring project activities, budget and organizing logistics. As an advocate Network organization, the PC support NEWA to gather sufficient information and knowledge on and the implementation gaps of national policies, laws, and plans and the engagement of women, young women, girls in their areas of interest and needs including in the prevention of conflict, peace building and humanitarian responses. The PC closely works with the Program manger, Finance & Administration Dept, and the M&E unit, the communication and IT section.
As senior staff, the expected qualities include being diligent, organized, details oriented and comfortable working with diverse teams as well as skilled with programme development and human resource support – mentor- coach and manage. The position holder needs to be dedicated and passionate for the causes of NEWA, hardworking, professional and with excellent organizational skills.

Professional/
Qualifications
Masters’ degree in the field of Peace and Security, social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required in international relations, economics, law, gender studies or other relevant fields.
Relevant Experience
Program coordination and including design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting
At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building
Knowledge in the area of Peace and Security or Women’s Empowerment is required
Proven expertise in project designing, proposal drafting and resources mobilization
Extensive experience in coordinating and liaising with government agencies, civil society organisations and/or donors.
Hands on experience in Proposal writing
Experience in gender programs
Experience in coordination and managing gender, related projects
Experience in conducting advocacy
Experience in programme operations,
Length of Experience
At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building
Key skills/ competency
Excellent understanding of development issues, gender equality and the cultural context of the country.
Understanding of the current development agendas, WPS agendas in Africa and UN Level.
Strong team leader and player
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good writing capabilities
Proposal writing and resource mobilization/ fundraising
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, access, PowerPoint, and outlook). Knowledge of other computer software’s used for preparing communications tools will be an asset.
Creativity in the presentation of information through use of graphical, pictorial, or other appropriate communication means.
Excellent networking skills
Strong organizational skills

Position 2: Administrative Officer
Functional Summary:
Administrative services managers coordinate and direct the many support services that allow organizations to operate efficiently. Oversee telecommunications management, security, parking, and power consumption. Manages and coordinates activities of employees engaged in administrative services such as security, maintenance, mail and messenger services, and support services.
Administrative Officer of NEWA is expected to provide administrative support towards general office management, personnel administration, and information management.
Professional/Qualifications:
Diploma in Management related field
BA in Management related field
Relevant Experience:
Working experience in office management
Knowledge of modern office procedures
Knowledge and exposure to personnel Management Good organization and coordination skills
Ability to operate modern office management
Length of Work Experience:
At least 4 years
Desired: 2 years

FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:
To maintain the vehicle always in operationally fit condition and ensure provision of effective transportation service to the assigned program/project/unit

Duties & Responsibilities:
Driving assigned vehicle while transporting staff or assets on official work
Ensure daily cleanliness & periodic maintenance of assigned vehicles
Maintaining up-to-date and accurate records in the vehicle log book on Fuel and lubricants consumed, duties undertaken with mileage, repairs/maintenances undertaken & spares/materials consumed
Safeguarding the vehicle and all of its contents in his custody Ensuring that the assigned vehicle is well serviced and in good mechanical order always for both local & out station duties
Strict adherence to traffic rules and regulations, while driving
Professional/
Qualifications
High school education Clean Driving License
Additionally, mechanical training
