Omo Microfinance is edging closer in its bid to transform into a bank. It is the third microfinance institution to make such a move, after Amhara and Oromia saving & credit institutions. The shareholders of the microfinance voted last week to change its name to Omo. Established 25 years ago with an initial capital of half a million Birr and four branch offices, the institution has total assets of 10.7 billion Br and a paid-up capital of 1.9 billion Birr.

Omo was one of the five largest microfinance institutions in Ethiopia, along with Amhara, Oromia, Addis, and Dedebit. These institutions account for 82.6pc of the total capital, 90pc of the savings, and 85.9pc of the credit provided in the microfinance market. Omo mobilised over seven billion Birr in deposits last year, bringing its aggregate to 36 billion Birr.

Omo Bank SC would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following vacant positions.

Position 1: Manager- Remittance and Forex Officer.

Required Qualification and Experience

Education: MA/BA Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management and any other related fields.

Experience: 8/10 years International Banking Experience from which at least 2 years as Principal Remittance officer or Head section Remittance and forex section. Also knows NGO transaction, Remittance Agents transaction and follow up, Diaspora transaction, Exporter transaction and knows all reports under the division.

Position 2: Manager -Trade Service and Correspondent Banking

Required Qualification and Experience:

Education: MA/BA Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management and any other related fields.

Experience: 8/10 years International Banking Experience from which at least 2 years as Principal Trade Service Officer (Import and Export), Head section trade service. Also He/She knows on ESW, EFCARS, all reports under trade service section, NBE Directive Regarding International Banking and knowing International Banking Policy and Procedure.

Position 3: Senior SWIFT Officer

Required Qualification and Experience

Education: BA Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management and any other related fields.

Experience: 6 years of International Banking experience that means Trade Service, Remittance, Incoming and Outgoing Swift out of which 4 years working at SWIFT section.

Place of Work: For all Vacant Posts Head Office (Addis Ababa)

Salary & Benefits: As per the Bank’s Salary Scale & Benefits Package
