Shints ETP Garment PLC would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following vacant position.
Position 1: EHS / Compliance Officer
Education & Qualifications:
BSc in Chemical Engineering BA/BSc in Management Business Administration, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering and Related Department with 0-3 years relevant experience.
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the implementation of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies across the facility in line with local regulations and international standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, WRAP, etc.). Ideal for candidates with a background in Chemical Engineering, Management, or Business Administration who have strong analytical and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Management
Monitor chemical storage, usage, and disposal practices (especially relevant for chemical engineers).
Ensure compliance with environmental standards (air, water, waste, noise).
Support ISO 14001 implementation and audits.
Occupational Health & Safety
Develop and implement health & safety procedures across operations.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure preventive measures are in place.
Lead incident investigations and enforce corrective actions.
EHS Strategy & Systems
Develop EHS KPIs and monitor performance trends.
Coordinate compliance with local labor/environmental laws.
Drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and sustainability.
Training & Awareness
Provide safety induction and refresher training to employees.
Promote awareness through campaigns and toolbox meetings.
Engage all departments using strong communication and managerial skills.
Emergency Preparedness
Maintain fire safety systems and organize evacuation drills.
Ensure emergency response teams are trained and equipped.
