U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: Project Management Specialist (M&E)

Job Summery

Basic Functions: The USAID Project Management Specialist (M&E Specialist) fulfills a key role in the USAID/Ethiopia Office of Economic Growth and Resilience (EGR). The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist provides expertise focusing on program outcomes and impacts and integrating information into existing M&E systems, programming decisions, and collaboration with partners. The Specialist contributes to the Office’s intellectual leadership by helping to coordinate and implement the Office’s analytical, evaluation, and learning agendas. The incumbent coordinates with Program, Humanitarian Assistance, Education and Youth, Democracy and Governance, and Health offices of the Mission in planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of activities. The Specialist communicates with USAID Washington Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Teams to exchange information and receive guidance. In addition to these duties, the Specialist will serve as an Agreement Officer’s Representative (AOR) or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for activities as assigned by the Office Management.

Job Requirement

Qualifications required: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, food security, agriculture, nutrition, natural resources management, environmental science, international development, international relations, or other international development-related or M&E-related fields. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible, professional-level experience is required, with directly relevant experience and a proven track record of programmatic accomplishment and professional achievement in monitoring and evaluation, food security, humanitarian assistance, livelihoods development, or agriculture.

Salary Range: The salary range of the position is FSN-11; $24,124 – $43,420 yearly, articulated in U.S. dollars but paid in Birr.

Position 2: USAID Project Management Specialist (Family Health Deputy Team Lead)

Job Summery

Basic Functions:  The USAID/Ethiopia Health Office is responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of all USAID-financed health activities in support of the Ethiopian Health Sector Transformation Plan (HSTP) and successor strategies. The Health Office is currently comprised of four teams: Family Health, Health Systems and Resilience (HS&R), Malaria and Infectious Disease. The Family Health Team portfolio covers a range of program elements including, but not limited to: Family Planning and Reproductive Health (FP/RH); Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH); Clinical Nutrition, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). The Family Health Deputy Lead provides technical and strategic leadership to USAID, the Government of Ethiopia and other USAID partners on MNCH, FP/RH, nutrition, and WASH activities. The incumbent will ensure inter-office coordination as well as cross-office coordination among humanitarian, nutrition, WASH, MCH, FP/RH, and health system strengthening (HSS) activities to optimize Mission resources

Job Requirement

Qualifications required: Minimum of Masters degree or local equivalent from an accredited program in Public Health, International Development, Health, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Organizational Development, Epidemiology, Infectious Disease, Medicine, or Nutrition. Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in the public or private health within Ethiopia, or international development field in Ethiopia with a minimum of three years of this experience in supervising and managing staff and direct management of activities. Experience in designing, implementing, monitoring, and/or evaluating activities/projects as well as experience working with donors and development partners

Salary Range: The salary range of the position is FSN -12; $29,075 – $52,355 yearly, articulated in U.S. dollars but paid in Birr
