Position 1: – Human Resource Officer

The job holder is responsible for overall management and strategic direction of the Human Resources administration functions. This role oversees all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, and workforce planning and safeguarding policy implementation. The Head of HR Officer also plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and off boarding processes for staff.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
Administer payroll and benefits programs.
Provide HR advice and support to staff and management.
Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and performance management.
Ensure a safe and supportive working environment for all staff.
Promote compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
Contribute to the organization’s overall mission and goals.
Develop and implement comprehensive safeguarding policies and procedures.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits.
Provide training and awareness-raising sessions on safeguarding issues.
Investigate and address safeguarding incidents promptly and effectively.
Support monitoring of partner progress on good safeguarding practice and helping to identify and communicate the supports they may require from Vita with the Country Office and Vita Ireland
Collaborate with external agencies and authorities as needed.
Job Requirement
Education and Experience
MA Degree in Business Administration/Human Resource Management or BA Degree from recognized university
At least 4 years work experience for MA Degree and 6years for BA Degree in the related field.
Candidates with advanced degrees or certifications in safeguarding will be given be given preference
Practical NGO or relevant experience in similar position.
Proven experience in developing job descriptions, all steps of HR recruitment process, training and development, performance management- setting objectives/goals etc.
Skills
Safeguarding:
Strong knowledge of safeguarding principles, policies, and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to conduct investigations and resolve complaints effectively
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in using relevant software (e.g., incident reporting systems, training platforms)
HR:
Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employees and management
Proficiency in using HR management systems (e.g., HRIS, payroll software)
Strong organizational and time management skills
Work place: Vita Country Office, Addis Ababa and will involve travel to field offices

Position 2: – Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
Job Summary
Job Purpose: The Program Quality work stream in Vita Ethiopia is one of the key thematic program areas with the goal of ensuring program quality in all of the country programs/projects. Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Program Quality Manager, The Monitoring and Evaluation officer will be responsible for the M&E activities required for Vita Green Impact Fund/VGIF program as stated here under:
Reports to: Direct – Program Quality Manager Horizontal – Head of Program- Green Impact Fund
Main Responsibilities and tasks:
Programme Results Framework
Ensure that each programme has a realistic and appropriate results framework in line with Vita’s M&E policies and standards.
Facilitate a consultative process for the development or revision of the programme results framework, involving all relevant programme staff.
Develop M&E plans based on the agreed results framework and support the implementation of these plans.
Ensure that the M&E plans provide the necessary reporting information for donors, government, and investors.
Data Collection and Management
Collaborate with programme staff to develop appropriate electronic surveying tools, working closely with the Data Manager to design and deploy these tools.
Ensure the accuracy of collected data, providing support to data collectors as needed to ensure quality.
Share M&E results/data and support programme teams in using this information to enhance programme quality, including organizing and facilitating workshops and meetings when required.
Other Tasks
Provide support in the procurement or management of consultants, as requested by the Programme Quality Manager and VGIF Head of Programme, in the case of external consultancies.
Conduct frequent visits to project sites to carry out M&E activities and support programme implementation.
Provide training on M&E-related topics, as required by the VGIF Head of Programme.
Ensure compliance with personal data protection requirements when conducting M&E activities, including for photography and video production/documentation.
Adhere strictly to Vita’s policies, actively promoting transparency and openness in all activities.
Job Requirement
Required Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
MSc/MA/BSc in Development Studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics, or other relevant fields.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience for BSc holders, or 3 years for MSc/MA holders, in M&E of NGO projects.
Experience working within a multi-disciplinary project team.
Experience in a similar role within a rural water or improved cookstove project is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of result-based project design, monitoring, and evaluation.
Familiarity with participatory methods and both quantitative and qualitative techniques for assessments and analysis.
Experience using Kobo (or other electronic data collection software such as MWater) is highly advantageous.
Understanding of safeguarding requirements in data collection.
Competency in using MS applications, SPSS, and STATA.
Professional fluency in English.
Excellent report writing, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently, be proactive, pragmatic, and a strong team player with good communication skills.
Location/Duty Station: Addis Ababa
